The Program Engineering Manager will provide leadership to a diverse technical team of dedicated engineers and scientists responsible for the development of new plant engineering proposals, early works agreements and new product developments.
In this position, the Program Engineering Manager will drive timely decision making of technical issues related to the delivery of our standard design programs. The Program Engineering Manager will coordinate, expedite, and close open issues/concern and be responsible to ensure on-time and budget delivery of new product developments. You will partner with internal technical authorities and support the team that serves as the primary interface between Engineering and other organization that support product development including Sourcing, Quality, Customers, Partners, and Subcontractors.
The Program Engineering Manager position is to be filled by a recognized leader in the business. This person will demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives associated with product development, and be a visible champion.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities:
As the Program Engineering Manager, you will:
- Report solid line to the General Manager, Design Engineering.
- Provide leadership for a diverse team being accountable for on-time delivery of design products within budget.
- Ensure the development of the teams technical and leadership talent/depth
- Establish and maintain strong working relationship with other internal engineering team managers, business leaders, project and program managers and other stakeholders.
- Interface with external partners, customers, and other applicable country specific regulatory agencies, as required on technical issues.
- Work with product line leadership and functional engineering teams to deliver standard designs per product requirements.
- Work with engineering leadership to drive an understanding of the departures from our standard designs and support the build out and maintenance of standard proposal estimates, schedules, risk registers.
- Coordinate engineering interfaces and drive timely resolution of technical project issues with multiple engineering disciplines, business project and product management, partners, subcontractors, and customers.
- Provide leadership supporting performance and program management of assigned work and ensure on-time fulfillment of engineering commitments in accordance with contract requirements, business procedures, industry standards and regulatory agency guidelines.
- Support the planning, organization, and management of the delivery of technical activities/tasks in support of engineering deliverables.
- Provide guidance and manage external resources to ensure the quality of deliverables, enable flexibility and improved cost positions.
- Support commercial and marketing opportunities to develop new business opportunities.
- Protect the Intellectual Property rights of GEVH.
- Support GEVH initiatives, process improvement and simplification.
- Ensure adherence to GEVH’s standards for nuclear safety and compliance.
- Partner with business teams and present product/program strategies, technical roadmaps, risks, and recommendations to senior leads across GEVH.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or related Science or technical discipline.
- At least 12 years of progressive experience in engineering design and/or project leadership experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in the nuclear industry or equivalent large scale new build experience in the power industry.

- Demonstrated ability to document, plan, market and manage programs that further the knowledge, understanding and capability of the business.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $134,400.00 and $257,600.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
