The Medical Receptionist Float - VSP supports CenterWell medical offices by delivering exceptional front-desk service on a flexible, as-needed basis. You will welcome patients, answer incoming calls, schedule appointments, and assist with a variety of administrative responsibilities to help ensure smooth daily clinic operations.This is a Variable Staffing Pool (VSP) position, and hours will vary based on clinic needs. While the typical schedule is up to 20 hours per week, actual weekly hours may fluctuate depending on staffing requirements across locations.
This role requires the ability to travel and float between CenterWell clinics throughout Middle Tennessee, including locations as far west as Bellevue, north as Clarksville, east as Lebanon, and south as Murfreesboro. Mileage reimbursement is provided for eligible travel.
Job Description
The Medical Receptionist Float - VSP welcomes patients and offers administrative support within a physician practice or center. This may include the following responsibilities:
- Greet Patients: Welcome patients and visitors, both in person and over the phone.
- Schedule Appointments: Manage appointment calendars, schedule patient visits, and coordinate with medical staff to improve schedules.
- Patient Records: Maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy. Work in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Billing and Payments: Ensure patient accounts are updated correctly. May include collecting copay at time of visit.
- Inquiries and Communication: Answer incoming calls, respond to patient inquiries, and provide general information.
- Office Management: Ensure the reception area is tidy, sanitized, and well-stocked with necessary materials.
- Administrative Support: Help with other administrative tasks, such as ordering supplies, managing office inventory, and sending courier packages.

Required Qualifications:
- 1+ year experience in healthcare customer service background in retail, hospitality, or call centers also considered
- Travel / Float to clinics including Middle Tennessee, as far West as Bellevue, North as Clarksville, East as Lebanon, and South as Murfreesboro. We reimburse mileage.
- Convey information and maintain a positive, tone during calls
- Experience coordinating tasks, resources, and schedules to ensure efficient workflow
- Experience using MS Office tools for reporting, data analysis, and workflow optimization
- Experience improving patient care and experience
- This is a patient-facing role and part of our Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. We require TB screening upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with EMR systems
