The American Heart Association has an opportunity for a Sr. Business Development Manager, Corporate Training Solutions. This position can be home-based.

 

The Senior Business Development Manager is a player-coach responsible for accelerating the growth of the American Heart Association's corporate CPR, First Aid, AED, and workplace safety training solutions. This role manages a team of four Business Development Managers while maintaining direct responsibility for strategic account acquisition, business development, and revenue generation.

Responsibilities

The ideal candidate is a hands-on sales leader who excels at winning new business, developing talent, and building strategic partnerships. They combine strong leadership capabilities with a passion for growing revenue and expanding access to lifesaving training solutions.

  • Lead and develop a team of four Business Development Managers, driving performance, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Serve as a player-coach by managing key enterprise accounts and personally contributing to revenue goals.
  • Identify, pursue, and close new corporate partnerships for CPR, First Aid, AED, and workplace safety training programs.
  • Build relationships with executive decision-makers across HR, Learning & Development, Safety, Risk Management, and Operations.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies that expand market share and increase customer retention.
  • Manage pipeline health, forecasting, contract negotiations, and strategic account planning.
  • Partner with marketing, product, and customer success teams to drive demand generation, customer adoption, and long-term growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 5+ years of business development, enterprise sales, or strategic account management experience.
  • Experience with sales leadership or team management.
  • Ability to successfully lead high-performing teams while achieving individual sales targets.
  • Strong consultative selling, negotiation, coaching, and executive relationship management skills.
  • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory, including daily travel to partner sites and stakeholders (approximately 70-80%), with occasional overnight travel (approximately 10%).

Compensation & Benefits

The expected pay range will be $100,000 to $115,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range. The American Heart Association invests in its people.
