Senior Director, Taiwan Ecosystem Business Development and Country Manager

This Senior Director, reporting to Vice President of Business Development, will have two key responsibilities. The first is to lead the Business Development efforts towards expanding Lumentum’s presence across the technology ecosystem in Taiwan. The second is to be the Country Manager of the Lumentum sites in Taiwan.

Business Development Key Responsibilities:

  • This leader will work cross-functionally to deepen relationships with the major ecosystem partners in Taiwan, identify strategic opportunities, and align internal efforts to meet evolving market needs, by sharing market developments broadly across the company to inform business and product strategies.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Lumentum’s products, technologies, and capabilities by engaging closely with Product and R&D leaders, Business Unit managers, and the CTO organization. Collaborate intimately with the Sales organization to create seamless communication in customer engagements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with the leaders of Taiwan’s technology ecosystem and its fast-expanding optical technology ecosystem. The role requires successfully engaging with key people in the Taiwan ecosystem particularly in the following 4 areas:
    • Server manufacturers including Accton, Quanta, Wistron, Foxconn, etc.
    • TSMC and other foundries
    • ASE, Spil and other OSATs
    • MediaTek and other IC companies
  • Leverage insights gained from discussions with the groups above to educate Lumentum leaders and key stakeholders on potential blind spots, business opportunities, and market and competitive dynamics, enabling better-informed decisions on product roadmaps and business strategy.
  • Promote and advocate for Lumentum’s products and technology, helping drive adoption, and support Lumentum’s Marketing Efforts including:
    • Seek speaking opportunities and other public platforms to effectively evangelize Lumentum’s vision, capabilities, and leadership.
    • Contribute to corporate blogs and contributed articles where appropriate to help drive Lumentum’s thought leadership and messaging.
  • The individual must be a self-starter and take initiative to find opportunities to regularly use his/her role to strengthen Lumentum’s understanding of the broader technology ecosystem in a way that is useful to Lumentum strategy and product roadmaps.
     

Country Manager Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Lumentum corporate efforts in all site-related management activities, including interfacing with the local and Taiwan national government, and being the local contact for the landlord.
  • Act as the chief communicator creating a strong bridge between remote managers of staff and the local staff.
  • Support employee actions such as hiring and separations of employees, as necessary.
  • Facilitate all necessary activities locally to allow employees to do their job as effectively as possible.  This includes but is not limited to, onboarding, facilities and communication.
  • Help ensure all functional areas involved in the Taiwan site (finance, IT, HR, legal, R&D and Operation etc) are communicating and working effectively as a team.
  • Support employee engagement and morale to ensure Lumentum is viewed as a great place to work.
  • Ensure cost control, and overall financial compliance for Taiwan.
