Data Centre Project Manager

Overview

Our client is expanding its data-centre infrastructure capability and is looking for a Project Manager (Data Centre) to lead the delivery of customer connectivity and structured-cabling projects.

You will own the project lifecycle after service order or contract award—coordinating customers, internal engineering teams, contractors and site operations to ensure safe, high-quality and on-time delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of fibre, telecom-connectivity and structured-cabling projects after contract award.

• Plan project scope, schedules, site readiness, engineering resources, dependencies, risks and customer communications.

• Lead and coordinate a team of cable engineers and oversee relevant contractors or vendors.

• Work closely with customers, solution-design teams, network teams and site operations throughout project implementation and handover.

• Monitor project progress, resolve technical and delivery issues, and provide clear status updates to key stakeholders.

• Ensure installation quality, testing, documentation, customer acceptance and operational handover are completed to required standards.

• Support continuous improvement of project-delivery processes and technical practices.

Requirements

• Degree's holder in Telecommunications, Engineering, IT, Project Management or a related discipline.

• Proven 10 years of experience delivering customer-facing telecom, fibre, structured-cabling, network-infrastructure or data-centre projects.

• Practical technical understanding of fibre/cabling installation, physical connectivity, testing and site implementation.

• Experience leading or coordinating engineers, subcontractors and/or external vendors.

• Strong project-management, stakeholder-management and problem-solving skills.

• Able to manage delivery risks, changing requirements and cross-functional dependencies in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in a data centre, telecom carrier, network/ELV integrator, cabling contractor or critical-facilities environment is preferred.

• Good command of English and Chinese.
