Our Dewberry New York City office is seeking a Senior Transportation Project Manager with strong NYSDOT design experience. Have you led NYSDOT projects as a project manager, civil highway lead or design manager? Are you familiar with NYC public agency requirements? Then this position may be perfect for you. You’ll be primarily responsible for managing interdisciplinary projects, document preparation and production, managing subconsultants, monitoring budgets, schedules and quality. You will also be assigned to client teams and will likely become a client manager.
You will be most sought after if you have an in-depth background in the design of highways and streets, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and experience delivering design build projects. Bring your skills for creating innovative technical concepts and writing winning proposals.

Responsibilities
- Serve as Project Manager and senior technical lead on highway, street reconstruction, and streetscape projects from preliminary design through PS&E and construction support
- Manage scope, schedule, budget, staffing, and subconsultants; forecast and report on project financial performance
- Direct the preparation and QA/QC review of design plans, engineering estimates, specifications, and detail sheets
- Coordinate across drainage, utilities, traffic, structures, geotechnical, survey, and ROW disciplines, and with utility companies and affected stakeholders
- Serve as the day-to-day client contact ,lead progress meetings, resolve design issues, and respond to agency comments
- Ensure designs conform to NYC DOT, NYC DDC, NYSDOT, PANYNJ, AASHTO, and ADA/PROWAG requirements
- Support business development: proposals, interviews, scoping meetings, and long-term client relationships
- Mentor and develop project engineers and designers; support their progression toward licensure
Required Skills & Required Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or/Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related
- Registered Professional Engineer in NY.
- At least 12 years’ experience in transportation
- Demonstrated project management experience on public agency capital projects, including direct responsibility for scope, schedule, and budget
- Working experience with one or more of: **NYS Department of Transportation, , Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,**
- Command of applicable design standards and manuals: NYC DOT and DDC standard details and specifications, NYSDOT Highway Design Manual and Standard Specifications, AASHTO Green Book, MUTCD, ADA/PROWAG
- Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to agency clients and community stakeholders
- Design Build experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Driving is a requirement of the position. A clean driving record is required.

Salary Range
The projected range for this position is $175,000-$205,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly. These ranges are for NY only.
