The Reporting & Accounting Advisor is accountable for delivering high-quality reporting, accounting and analytical activities that support financial stewardship, business performance and decision-making. The role executes key finance processes relating to expenditure and supports the timely delivery of internal and external reporting requirements through accurate financial analysis, reporting and process execution.
The role applies professional judgement to solve variable and evolving reporting, accounting and data-related issues, while partnering with finance and business stakeholders to improve reporting quality, process effectiveness and operational outcomes. The role contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and supports the adoption of digital and data-driven ways of working across finance activities.
What you will be doing
Deliver reporting and accounting activities: Execute reporting, accounting and analytical processes accurately and on time in accordance with established standards, governance requirements and service expectations.
Perform financial analysis and reporting: Analyse financial information, identify trends, investigate variances and provide insights that support business and finance decision-making.
Manage tactical projects and initiatives: Lead or contribute to reporting, information management and data-related projects that improve finance delivery and business outcomes.
Support financial stewardship and controls: Ensure compliance with accounting policies, financial controls, reporting requirements and governance frameworks.
Resolve reporting and data issues: Investigate and address reporting, accounting and data-related challenges, applying sound judgement and root-cause analysis techniques.
Partner with stakeholders: Build effective working relationships with finance colleagues, business stakeholders and process owners to support reporting and accounting objectives.
Contribute to process improvement: Identify opportunities for standardisation, simplification and continuous improvement across reporting and accounting activities.
Leverage digital and analytical tools: Utilise reporting systems, analytics platforms and automation solutions to improve efficiency, reporting quality and insights generation.
Maintain data quality and integrity: Ensure financial data is accurate, complete and reliable to support reporting, accounting and performance management activities.
Support change implementation: Contribute to the adoption of new processes, technologies and ways of working within reporting and accounting operations.

Experience in financial reporting, accounting, finance operations, controllership or related finance disciplines.
Practical experience performing financial analysis, reporting activities or accounting processes.
Understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, reporting frameworks and internal controls.
Experience working with financial systems, reporting tools, ERP platforms or analytics solutions.
Experience participating in process improvement, automation or transformation initiatives is advantageous.
Professional accounting qualification, finance qualification or relevant finance, accounting or business degree preferred.
Financial reporting and accounting knowledge: Understanding of accounting principles, reporting processes, financial controls and governance requirements.
Financial analysis capability: Ability to analyse financial information, identify trends and develop meaningful insights and recommendations.
Problem solving and judgement: Ability to evaluate information, investigate issues and develop practical solutions to reporting and accounting challenges.
Data management and analytical skills: Ability to work with financial data, reporting tools and information systems to support finance delivery.
Process management: Understanding of end-to-end finance processes and the ability to execute activities accurately and efficiently.
