Are you a passionate Advanced Practice Provider seeking an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the care of patients with complex cardiovascular disease? Virtua Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our growing Structural Heart & Valve Program and provide care across both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

As a member of our multidisciplinary Heart Team, you will work alongside interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, imaging specialists, nurses, and APPs to deliver comprehensive care to patients with advanced valvular and structural heart disease.

 

Practice Locations

This position provides care across multiple Virtua locations, including:

·         Virtua Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Camden, NJ

·         Virtua Health Structural Heart & Valve Clinics in Cherry Hill and Moorestown, NJ

The APP will work throughout the continuum of care, managing patients in both the outpatient clinic environment and the inpatient hospital setting.

 

About the Opportunity

This unique role combines outpatient valve clinic management with inpatient structural heart care coordination. The APP will participate in all aspects of the patient journey, including initial consultation, diagnostic workup, multidisciplinary Heart Team evaluation, procedural planning, hospitalization, discharge coordination, and follow-up.

 

Key Responsibilities

Outpatient Structural Heart & Valve Clinic

·         Evaluate and manage patients with severe aortic , mitral, and tricuspid valve diseases, as well as other structural heart conditions.

·         Participate in new patient consultations and follow-up visits.

·         Coordinate diagnostic testing, imaging reviews, and procedural workups.

·         Participate in multidisciplinary Heart Team conferences.

·         Manage pre-procedure and post-procedure care.

·         Collaborate with referring physicians and community cardiologists.

Inpatient Structural Heart Service

·         Participate in inpatient consultations.

·         Coordinate care for patients undergoing structural heart interventions.

·         Manage peri-procedural admissions and post-procedure recovery.

·         Facilitate discharge planning and transitions of care.

·         Coordinate multidisciplinary communication among cardiology, cardiac surgery, nursing, and case management teams.

Program Focus

The APP will support patients undergoing advanced structural heart procedures, including:

·         Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)

·         Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (M-TEER)

·         Tricuspid Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair (T-TEER)

·         Transcatheter Tricuspid Valve Replacement (TTVR)

·         Balloon Aortic Valvuloplasty

·         PFO/ASD closure

·         Emerging structural heart technologies and clinical trials

Preferred Qualifications

·         Experience in cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, interventional cardiology, structural heart, heart failure, or critical care preferred

·         Strong clinical assessment, communication, and patient education skills

·         Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multidisciplinary cardiovascular environment

 

In compliance with New Jersey pay transparency laws, all physician roles include a posted minimum base salary. The minimum base salary for this position is $128,125.00 per year.

Final compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience, qualifications, and prevailing market factors.
