Summary:
This position supports the analytics team by assisting in the collection, preparation, and presentation of business data. This position is designed for individuals beginning their analytics careers who demonstrate strong analytical aptitude, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Working under close supervision, the associate contributes to data-driven decision-making through basic data analysis, report building, and exposure to modern business intelligence tools.
Functions:
- Assist with collecting, preparing, and organizing data for analysis and reporting.
- Build and maintain simple reports and dashboards using tools such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
- Learn and apply basic SQL for querying and validating data.
- Support team members in documenting analytical processes and maintaining data reference materials.
- Participate in training and mentoring activities to develop technical and analytical skills.
- Help identify data issues and contribute to process improvements under guidance.
- Collaborate with analysts and business users to understand reporting needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required.
- Familiarity with SQL, Excel, or data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated interest and ability in expanding knowledge and skills preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Previous insurance background or business data analysis background preferred.
- Curiosity about data and interest in developing skills in business intelligence and analytics.
- Ability to build collaborative relationships is preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment is preferred.
- Interest in learning Property and Casualty insurance operations preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, travel to all organization offices (including Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Dakota) and travel to vendor work sites required.
- Ability to work in an office environment with moderate noise level, remain in a stationary position and operate a computer a majority of the time required.
- Ability to move throughout the office to access work materials and to move work materials weighing up to ten pounds daily required.
