Life doesn’t always follow a fixed schedule. That’s why we created the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position: a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career with the industry leader.

As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Reception in Harrisburg, PA, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Pay Rate: $19.89 / Hour

Access Control/Badge Experience (B201): Candidates should have prior experience with access control systems and badge management.

Comfortable Using Computer or Tablet (B204): Proficiency in using computers or tablets is required for all positions. Candidates should demonstrate their ability to navigate software applications relevant to their role.

CPR Certification (B205): Candidates must possess a valid CPR certification. Free training is provided by Allied Universal for those who do not have certification at the time of application.

Customer Service Experience (B219): A background in customer service is essential. Candidates should have experience in handling customer inquiries and providing assistance in a professional manner.

Age Requirement (C101): Candidates must be at least 21 years of age to be eligible for employment.

Experience Requirements (C108): Candidates must meet one of the following experience criteria:

• 1+ years of law enforcement experience, or
• 2+ years of security supervisor/manager experience, or
• 3+ years of general security experience.

How This Role Works:

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick-up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours this week and full-time the next. It’s all up to you.

This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build-up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional customer service at the front desk of a financial institution by following site-specific procedures and supporting a professional, welcoming environment.
• Monitor access to the location, greet and direct visitors, verify credentials as required, and maintain visitor logs in accordance with site policies.
• Observe lobby and entrance activity and report unusual conditions, access concerns, and security-related incidents to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Complete required reports, maintain accurate front-desk documentation, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least one year of law enforcement experience, at least two years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or at least three years of security-related experience.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
