This role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

What you’ll do:

Responsibilities:

• Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for portions and subsystems of systems software, networking infrastructure and control-plane software.
• Analyze design and determine coding, programming, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of the overall architecture of the product or solution.
• Write and execute comprehensive test plans and protocols, and document the assigned portion of the application; identify, debug, and resolve code and integration issues.
• Collaborate and communicate with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding software systems design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Represent the software engineering team for all phases of projects.

 

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

 

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• Typically, 6-9 years of experience.

 

Knowledge and Skills:

 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Proficient in written and verbal communication. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals, and negotiate technical options with management and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Proficient in C/C++ programming, data structures, algorithms, and Linux/FreeBSD operating system concepts.
• Experience in implementing or enhancing one or more routing protocols, such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, or MPLS signaling protocols such as RSVP, LDP, or multicast routing protocols such as PIM, IGMP.
• Familiarity with Layer 2 switching, EVPN, VXLAN, VPLS, and L2VPN is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted software development practices, including code generation, test creation, debugging, documentation, and the responsible review of AI-generated output for correctness, security, and quality.
