JOB SUMMARY:Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, reporting to the Patient Services Manager, the Cardiac Rhythm Device Technologist performs device analysis and programming for cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) patients. Performs techniques relating to Electro Cardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter, cardiac rhythm device monitoring, and other types of diagnostic cardiac equipment. Provides interpretations, analyses and test/summary reports as required. QUALIFICATIONS:Education & Experience Graduation from a recognized program in Cardiology Technology, successful completion of an advanced certificate in Cardiac Rhythm Device Technology or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) certification exam. Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC).Eligible for certification with the International Board of Heart Rhythm Exam (IBHRE) as a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist (CCDS). Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrated knowledge of current relevant techniques, methods and procedures.Advanced ECG interpretation and cardiac anatomy and physiology.Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) and to problem-solve and make decisions effectively. Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in patient care.General knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Harm Reduction approaches and Strengths-based care.Demonstrated ability to promote Indigenous Cultural Safety. Demonstrated ability to provide competent and culturally safety care in a variety of settings and with diverse populations.Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others.Demonstrated ability to perform duties accurately and maintain quality standards. Knowledge and proficiency with aseptic techniques Ability to integrate best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.Ability to adapt to new situations. Ability to operate related equipment. Ability to organize work. Ability to work in a team environment. Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes.
