Description
A Managing Partner at a Bay Area private equity firm and his family are looking for a Personal Assistant & House Manager to support their busy household. In this role, you'll own the family's calendar and daily logistics, coordinate vendors for ongoing home projects, oversee household organization, and help keep everything running smoothly for two school-aged kids. This is the family's first dedicated household hire, so there's real opportunity to help build out systems and structure from the ground up. There's also room to be a jack-of-all-trades: light meal prep, ad hoc errands, and pitching in with whatever the day calls for. Someone who is calm and steady under pressure, highly organized as second nature, and comfortable operating independently without a lot of oversight. You're a natural problem solver who reads the room, uses good judgment, and brings a service-first mindset to everything you do. This is a flexible hybrid role, roughly 3 days/week onsite at their home in Hillsborough. 130-150K DOE + benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the family's calendar, appointments, school activities, reservations, and other personal logistics.
- Coordinate and follow up with household vendors, including cleaners, gardeners, and contractors for maintenance and small remodel projects.
- Oversee household organization, including groceries, mail and packages, and car maintenance.
- Manage ongoing projects and liaise with the property manager for the family's second home in Tahoe.
- Support meal planning and light food prep as needed.
- Handle ad hoc personal requests and pitch in on miscellaneous household tasks as they come up.
- Maintain organized digital records for the family, including travel documents, school paperwork, and medical records.
- Occasionally assist with driving the kids or other personal errands as needed.
- Previous experience as a Personal Assistant or House Manager for a family, ideally having built or worked within a prioritization system of your own.
- Calm, non-anxious energy with the ability to operate autonomously and navigate ambiguity without needing heavy direction.
- Strong emotional intelligence, with good judgment on when to ask questions versus when to give people space.
- A natural problem solver who tries to resolve issues independently before escalating, and who thinks strategically about how to approach projects.
- Highly organized by nature, with strong digital organization skills.
- A flexible, jack-of-all-trades mindset, willing to pitch in wherever needed.
- Comfortable with a flexible hybrid schedule, generally 3 days/week onsite, with availability for occasional evenings or weekends with advance notice.
- Professional, clean presentation and excellent communication skills.
