## The group you’ll be a part of
WETS Deposition group at Lam India Global Hardware Technology (LIGHT) is hiring a Mechanical Manager for its product development and product ownership team.
As a Mechanical Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of mechanical engineers responsible for the design, development, and delivery of complex mechanical and electro‑mechanical systems used in semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role combines strong technical leadership with first‑level people management and execution ownership for assigned subsystems and programs.
You will be accountable for technical quality, schedule, and execution excellence within assigned program and subsystem scope.
## Job Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design, development, verification, release, and lifecycle support of fluid delivery and electromechanical subsystems for semiconductor equipment, ensuring compliance with system requirements and business objectives.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership across structural, thermal, fluid, and electromechanical domains, driving feasibility studies, design validation, risk mitigation, and resolution of complex technical challenges.
- Establish execution plans, manage priorities, monitor KPIs, and drive team accountability to deliver high-quality engineering outcomes aligned with cost, schedule, and quality commitments.
- Manage, coach, and mentor a team of engineers by providing clear direction, performance feedback, technical guidance, and skill development opportunities while fostering a culture of ownership and accountability.
- Drive talent acquisition, onboarding, succession planning, workforce capacity planning, and Individual Development Plans (IDPs) to ensure business continuity and long-term organizational growth.
- Oversee engineering test activities, laboratory utilization, resource planning, validation execution, and documentation to ensure robust product qualification and release readiness.
- Partner with systems, electrical, software, process, supplier, manufacturing, and program teams while effectively communicating status, risks, mitigation plans, and technical recommendations to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with Lam engineering standards and global processes, champion digital transformation initiatives, contribute to best practices, and lead innovation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement activities across the organization.
## Minimum qualifications
- Education: B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: 10–14 years of relevant experience, preferably in semiconductor or complex capital equipment engineering
- Prior first‑level people management Experience is preferred
- Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills

Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories – On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. ‘On-site Flex’ you’ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. ‘Virtual Flex’ you’ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.
