Purpose of the Role
We are seeking a highly analytical and business-oriented Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounting (Site Business Controller) to act as a trusted finance partner supporting warehousing and contract logistics operations. This role is responsible for strengthening financial governance, driving profitability, ensuring operational control effectiveness, and mitigating business risks at the site level.
As a key member of the frontline finance team, the Assistant Manager – Finance & Accounting (Site Business Controller) works closely with Operations, Site Management, and Finance stakeholders to improve financial performance, identify process gaps, enhance internal controls, and ensure compliance with company policies and governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Profitability
Monitor and improve financial performance of assigned warehouse sites.
Conduct financial reviews to identify revenue leakage, excessive costs, billing inaccuracies, and operational inefficiencies.
Partner with Site Managers and Operations teams to implement corrective actions.
Ensure accurate provisions and accruals to support month-end closing processes.
Monitor customer billing completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in accordance with contractual requirements.
Act as the first line of defense in managing operational and financial risks.
Review site processes and controls to identify gaps and compliance issues.
Perform Risk and Internal Control Compliance (RICC) reviews and drive remediation actions.
Perform RICC Controls as required and rolled out
Governance & Compliance
Monitor and report site health metrics and control effectiveness.
Escalate significant control deviations and risk exposures to appropriate management.
Support internal and external audit activities, including implementation of audit recommendations.
Maintain compliance with organizational governance requirements and approval processes.
Customer Onboarding & Business Support
Support new customer implementations by ensuring all finance-related requirements are established before go-live.
Review customer onboarding activities that have financial implications, including billing processes and controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure readiness for operational execution.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
Participate in business transformation initiatives, process improvements, and system implementations.
Evaluate operational processes against defined controls and RASCI requirements.
Partner with business teams to design and implement sustainable solutions that improve efficiency, compliance, and profitability.
Support regional and site-level initiatives aimed at enhancing operational excellence and financial governance
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Finance, Business Controlling, Audit, Risk Management, or a related field.
Experience supporting logistics, warehousing, supply chain, manufacturing, or operational environments is preferred.
Strong understanding of financial controls, governance, compliance, and risk management, with exposure to process improvement initiatives.
Strong financial and business acumen, with the ability to connect financial insights to operational performance.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and a continuous improvement mindset.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to drive alignment and influence without direct authority.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong written and spoken English.
Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working across functions and with stakeholders at different levels.
