Description

Savan Group is seeking a Records Clerk II to join its Records and Information Management (RIM) service line and support the delivery of high-quality records management services for our clients. Our Records Clerks play an important role in the day-to-day execution of RIM programs by maintaining accurate records and documentation, supporting records lifecycle activities, and coordinating with project team members and stakeholders. In this role, you will support a Federal RIM engagement and perform records management activities spanning both physical and electronic records. Your responsibilities will include supporting records inventories, filing and classification, records retention and disposition, records transfers, electronic records repositories, and related tracking and documentation. You should have a working knowledge of records management practices and the ability to apply established policies, procedures, and retention requirements accurately and consistently.

As a Records Clerk II, you will work closely with RIM consultants, records liaisons, and other stakeholders to maintain records and program documentation, track records management activities, support disposition and transfer processes, and assist users with established RIM processes and tools. You will be expected to manage assigned tasks efficiently, maintain accurate and complete documentation, meet established deadlines, and contribute to the effective operation of the client's records management program.

Role Responsibilities:
 

  • Perform day-to-day records management activities for electronic and physical records in accordance with established policies, procedures, and retention requirements.
  • Conduct and document records inventories and support the maintenance of file plans, records schedules, inventories, and other RIM program documentation and tracking tools.
  • Support records disposition and transfer activities by identifying eligible records, preparing and organizing required documentation, tracking status, and coordinating follow-up activities.
  • Organize, classify, file, and maintain electronic and physical records in accordance with established classification schemes, naming conventions, metadata requirements, and filing procedures.
  • Review records and related documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with established requirements and assist in resolving discrepancies or missing information.
  • Maintain records management repositories, databases, spreadsheets, and other tracking tools used to monitor records holdings, transfers, disposition activities, and related program activities.
  • Coordinate routine records management activities with records liaisons, project team members, and other stakeholders, including distributing materials, collecting information, tracking responses, and following up on outstanding actions.
  • Support records management training and outreach activities by maintaining guidance and training materials, assisting users with established RIM processes and tools, and responding to routine records management inquiries.

Qualifications and Requirements:
 
  • 3 years’ experience providing quality guidance through management consulting engagements in data and information management, and/or information technology environments
  • High school diploma
  • Ability to acquire and maintain a Public Trust
  • Strong written communication and documentation skills, with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Working knowledge of Federal laws regulations and practices impacting the creation, use and management of federal records and information.

Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Experience supporting records management, information governance, or related records management programs, preferably in a federal environment.
  • The ability to apply a working knowledge of federal records management regulations, policies, and requirements and experience to established day-to-day records management activities.
  • Experience conducting or maintaining records inventories, file plans, records schedules, retention and disposition information, or related program documentation.
  • Experience supporting records disposition, transfer, filing, classification, or other electronic and physical records management activities.
  • Experience using electronic records management systems, repositories, databases, or related information management and tracking tools.
  • Strong organizational, documentation, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate effectively with team members and stakeholders.


Work Location and Schedule: 
Hybrid Schedule – McLean, VA  or Atlanta, GA  (TBD)

The anticipated place of performance is currently being finalized and may include remote work and/or work at client facilities in the Washington, DC or Atlanta, GA metropolitan areas. Candidates should be willing and able to work on-site at client facilities as required. Final work location and telework arrangements will be determined based on contract requirements and client approval.

Compensation

The salary range for this position has not yet been finalized. Savan Group will establish compensation based on factors including the role’s requirements, market conditions, geographic location, and applicable contract provisions.
