Vice President of Product Operations, Martech – Inmar’s Martech Division is a high growth and profitable business spanning Incentives, Loyalty, Media, and Data solutions for retailers and brands. This Division is core to the company’s next wave of growth, powering a portfolio that manages billions in annual transactions between retailers and product manufacturers. The company is seeking a seasoned leader in product operations to drive success and consistency of execution across the end-to-end product process (planning, execution, and commercialization) across a diverse product portfolio. Working across the Martech team and in collaboration with corporate support teams, this role is focused on ensuring the company delivers on the roadmap and commitments made, both in creating new products and data services as well as enhancing and maintaining existing and more mature products. In other words, help implement a portfolio management structure across multiple industries, products, and product life-stages. This strategic position is responsible for developing the product operational structure and process, establishing and managing to product line KPIs, and executing the product lifecycle with a team of highly talented engineers. In addition, the Vice President of Product Operations will coordinate with a cross-functional team to direct market research, product definition, go-to-market, partnerships, and sales support in alignment with the product and business objectives.

Strong candidates are market-driven and customer-focused leaders, highly skilled at understanding the end-to-end product process, with experience in implementing successful product growth strategies. The ideal candidate should have a strong track record of successfully launching data-driven products and managing large established product lines. This is an innovative and data-driven role, working in a fast-paced startup environment within Inmar. This position is eligible to work remotely with a need to travel to HQ/customer sites on an as-needed basis.

Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 

  • Implement and lead a product operations structure across the product and engineering organizations, focused on excellence in roadmap execution and delivery. 
  • Establish standard product processes and best practices
  • Implement common roadmap planning, management, and communication tools across the team and which can be shared across Martech and Inmar more broadly.
  • Partner with the head of product to establish and lead an efficient, customer-centric, and data-driven product planning process
  • Move team from a heavy reliance on an annual planning process to a more iterative quarterly planning cycle.
  • Implement and lead an ongoing product council / product prioritization process with Martech leadership based on a balanced scorecard of business objectives, strategic drivers, product needs, and engineering capacity.
  • Partner with Finance to define product FP&A reporting to support product managers with key business data to better run their product lines of business.
  • Define product progress communication tools, cadence, and metrics for three distinct audiences - C-suite, Martech leadership, and the day-to-day cadence between product and engineering.
  • Establish and track leading indicators and KPIs for measuring performance, providing early visibility into at-risk areas to better proactively address.
  • Ensure commercial operational readiness on all go-to-markets, driving cross-functional collaboration and alignment with corporate support teams, product, sales, customer success, and marketing.
  • Define product success KPIs for each go-to-market, and track performance post-launch to ensure the roadmap is delivering on promised objectives.
  • Help create a retrospective environment to constantly test and learn, and implement next steps from those learnings.
  • Partner with engineering to implement processes and reporting that provide visibility into roadmap execution, helping to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and continuous improvement.

  • Domain expertise in product management and operations for both incubating new product lines and managing/growing mature product lines.
  • Strong record of successfully developing and growing new products to drive revenue
  • Passionate about thinking big and creatively to differentiate in the market
  • Goes beyond initial information and challenges assumptions, working to uncover the true use case, issue, or customer problem that needs to be solved
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills when determining how to best solve operational challenges, or when making business and product decisions
  • Operate with a data-driven mindset that supports A/B testing and prototype development to rapidly test assumptions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage trade-offs while maintaining alignment on business objectives.
  • Comfortable working in a start-up environment within a larger enterprise
  • Strong understanding of how to bring a product to market, including product, pricing, packaging, positioning, competitive assessment, channel development, etc.
  • Strong communicator with both written and verbal skills for evangelizing product strategy and communicating product roadmaps both internally and externally
  • A desire to learn from others and encourage contributions from both direct and indirect teams
  • Build collaborative relationships, creating a culture of respect, trust, and teamwork.
  • Results-oriented mindset focused on setting clear, aggressive, yet achievable goals and delivering on those goals via a culture of accountability.

Minimum Requirements:

  •  5-7 years experience in B2B product management for data platforms or highly data-driven products, preferably serving the martech industry

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from 4-year college or university; MBA preferred

  • Experience in creating intelligent services from underlying raw data

  • Knowledge of AI and ML solutions

  • Experience building SaaS solutions preferred

  • Ability to work diligently and ethically toward the achievement of goals

  • Proven track record for delivering consistent results and measurable improvements in the product process

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and outstanding attention to detail

  • Self-motivated and high energy

  • Experience in leading cross-functional teams with demonstrated ability to lead/inspire others

  • Self-starter that focuses on execution and delivery

  • Proficient in key business tools, such as PowerPoint, Excel, Google suite, etc. 

  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time

At Inmar, compensation reflects our belief in integrity, transparency, and the value of individual contributions. The hiring range for this position is:

182,962.13 - 304,936.88 USD Annual

The final offer may vary based on factors such as geographic location, job-related skills, education, certifications, work experience, and other relevant considerations.

Depending on the job level and role, it may include:
