Salary: £17.34 per hour, weekly pay
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 15:00

 

Our client, a local authority in Basildon, is recruiting for HGV Class 2 Drivers to join and be trained up to work for their waste and recycling team. As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you will support essential local services by completing waste and recycling collections across the Hemel Hempstead area. This is a hands on role where drivers are expected to work closely with the crew and assist with loading when required, so a positive team focused attitude is important.

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Driving an HGV Class 2 dustcart on planned local collection routes
• Completing waste and recycling collections safely and efficiently
• Assisting loaders with collections when required
• Carrying out basic vehicle checks and reporting defects
• Following health and safety procedures at all times

 

Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Previous dustcart or waste collection driving experience is desirable
• Valid HGV Class 2 Category C licence
• CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Good local area knowledge is beneficial
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
