Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia, in partnership with the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pediatric Endocrinologist to join our growing pediatric specialty team. This full-time faculty position offers the opportunity to provide exceptional, family-centered care while contributing to the education and mentorship of the next generation of pediatric physicians.
As Georgia's second-largest children's hospital, Wellstar Children's Hospital of Georgia provides comprehensive pediatric specialty and subspecialty care for children across the state and surrounding region. This position combines a rewarding clinical practice with opportunities for teaching, collaboration, and professional growth within an integrated academic health system.
Position Summary
The Pediatric Endocrinologist will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care for infants, children, and adolescents with endocrine disorders. The physician will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of pediatric specialists while supporting the academic mission through resident and medical student education.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school (or equivalent foreign medical degree).
- Board Certified in Pediatrics.
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatric Endocrinology.
- Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Georgia medical license.
- Eligible for federal DEA registration.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Practice (90%)
- Provide comprehensive pediatric endocrinology care in both outpatient clinics and inpatient settings, including outreach or satellite clinic locations as needed.
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of pediatric endocrine disorders.
- Perform specialty consultations and collaborate with pediatric subspecialists and multidisciplinary care teams.
- Order and interpret diagnostic testing, develop evidence-based treatment plans, and provide patient and family education.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and complete electronic medical records in accordance with Wellstar policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in weekday, weekend, and after-hours call coverage as part of the pediatric endocrinology team.
- Deliver high-quality, compassionate, family-centered care that supports Wellstar's commitment to clinical excellence, patient safety, and outstanding patient experience.
Academic & Educational Responsibilities (10%)
- Teach, mentor, and provide clinical supervision to pediatric residents, medical students, and other learners through the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University.
- Participate in lectures, conferences, bedside teaching, and other educational activities within the pediatric endocrinology program.
- Foster an engaging learning environment while supporting curriculum development and trainee professional growth.
- Maintain teaching effectiveness consistent with departmental expectations and contribute to the academic mission of the institution.
