Job Description

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSE (3-4 bullets)

  • Deliver a Unique Customer Experience through a Self-driving, Agile, Compliant and Regional differentiated distribution network guided by our commitment to the Patients, People and Planet.
  • Execute the deployment of strategic logistic network initiatives in geographical area of responsibility (ie,Air to Sea, Rail, New Packaging Technologies...)
  • Responsible for executing operations, compliance and sustainability objectives for China import/export transportation, China primary and domestic logistics activities, including Taizhou outbound activities, in collaboration with all stakeholders at plants, distribution centers and partners to achieve Takeda’s compliance and sustainability goals, process improvement and cost effectiveness ambition

ACCOUNTABILITIES (Describe the primary duties and responsibilities of the job.  Include only the essential functions of the job. Approximately 5 – 10 bulleted task statements should be identified).

  • In charge of import and export related job, includes preparation, transportation execution, crisis management, improvement, etc.
  • Supports the deployment and adherence to standards requirements (systems, approaches. etc), as well as reports with LSP, LLP and 3PL Logistics partners and internal GDLJA teams, if necessary.
  • Participates to QBRs & Performance mgmt. of Logistic Service Providers in scope of responsibility and support Supplier management process to define guidelines & procedures for the selection of solutions to achieve overall sustainability goals, compliance, costs improvement and service level
  • Partners and collaborates with colleagues in Procurement, Finance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain to ensure key metrics are achieved, i.e. Customer Service Levels Truck Load-fill, Sea Ratio, Carbon Emission for GDLJA
  • Acts as a compliance member for GDLJA to ensure GDL related Investigations are comprehensive, closed on time building Quality into the investigation process resulting in right-first time, high-quality investigations.
  • Supports GMP/GDP/GSP compliance, Cold Chain Excellence and support Internal/External quality Audit and Regulatory submissions. Assure that the regulatory status related to product transportation and Shipping Solution is well understood per facility prior to any regulatory audit
  • Manages local customs and trade compliance (CTC) for distribution & logistics activities based on Takeda Global Customs & Trade Compliance (GC&TC)
  • Supports the deployment and adherence to standards for deviation management and CAPA reports with LSP, LLP and 3PL Logistics partners and internal GDLJA teams.
  • Support new product launches as needed to ensure all GDLJA related launch activities are executed flawlessly in collaboration with others.
  • Support budget creation and ensure actual cost control and monitoring

DIMENSIONS AND ASPECTS

Technical/Functional (Line) Expertise (Breadth and depth of knowledge, application and complexity of technical knowledge)

  • Good understanding of Transportation and CTC Systems (SAP LES, GTS..)
  • Good understanding of end-to-end Supply Chain processes & functions to ensure shipping solutions maintain temperature requirements throughout transport.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GxPs, Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), 21 CFR Part 11, end to end supply chain, as well as detailed knowledge in logistics (transportation, warehouse).
  • Good understanding of GDP requirements, focus on cold chain. Expert in logistics, distribution processes and SBTI (Science Based Target Initiatives) sustainability domain – especially for the pharmaceutical industry. Knowledge of Supply Chain and Quality systems and solutions (SAP, Power BI, Trackwise, etc...)

  • Ability to lead regional/local projects that impact logistics compliance and sustainability improvements
  • Ability to lead performance dialogue and continuous improvement with internal and external partners under delegation of authority by a manager.

  • Ability to operate cross functionally, working with manufacturing sites, commercial business units, Global Quality and business partners functions (procurement, finance, IT, legal, …)

  • A member of global, regional or local project teams– ensuring visibility and transparency on the performance of GDLJA logistics compliance and sustainability areas under delegation of authority by a manager..
  • A member of other governance bodies on product launches, suppliers’ performance reviews – supporting decision making in areas pertaining to GDLJA under delegation of authority by a manager.
  • Good capabilities to analyze data to prepare & enable decision making on global and regional level in a matrix organization

  •  Contribution of thought, experience, background and skills in the areas of Business Intelligence (BI) systems, scorecards leveraging BI systems and business processes on logistics & transport services to drive process excellence.

  • Seek new shipping solution technologies that improve sustainability and overall cost objectives by continuously maintaining industry leading knowledge through networking, seminars and conferences

EDUCATION, BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS:  (List the essential and desirable education and competency requirements to perform the primary responsibilities of the job.  Any minimum requirements should be noted.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Engineering or Supply Chain Management.
  • Min 5 years of relevant experience in Distribution and Logistics management preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge with cold-chain distribution and shipping qualification requirements.
  • Good supply chain and Quality systems knowledge; SAP, JDE, Ariba, Microsoft Office, Power BI, Trackwise, etc.
  • Strong communication skills to manage stakeholders across levels & across countries
  • Good leadership, networking, and influencing skills
  • Good intercultural skills
  • Good business acumen & financial analytics skills
  • Structured, holistic and clear in problem solving
  • Strong ability to analyze a wide variety of supply chain data to make process improvement decisions
  • Strong ability to present ideas with clarity, conviction and confidence
  • Good capability to manage ambiguity, find pragmatic solutions & align/influence key stakeholders
  • Good portfolio management skills (PMI certification is a plus)
  • Good in English written communication and Fluent Chinese in verbal and written communication
