Waters Corporation is currently looking to hire a Material Handler to join our team. In this role you will perform a variety of warehouse duties, with an emphasis on picking and packing in an exciting, fast-paced environment. This is an opportunity to become a valued team member in a world-class specialty measurement company. The Material Handler Lead is responsible for coordinating the daily activities of the material handling team to ensure the efficient, accurate, and safe movement of materials throughout the facility. This role provides leadership, training, and support to team members while maintaining inventory accuracy and meeting production and shipping schedules.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the daily activities of material handlers to ensure workflow efficiency.
- Assign work tasks and monitor productivity to meet operational goals.
- Receive, inspect, store, and distribute raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines and shipping areas.
- Train new employees on material handling procedures, safety standards, and equipment operation.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, stock picker, and other powered industrial equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory transactions using warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and housekeeping standards (5S).
- Coordinate with production, receiving, shipping, and purchasing departments to ensure material availability.
- Identify opportunities to improve warehouse processes, productivity, and organization.
- Assist supervisors with scheduling, performance feedback, and daily operational reporting.
- Monitor quality standards to prevent damaged or incorrect materials from entering inventory.
- Respond quickly to production material shortages and prioritize urgent requests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for material handlers during assigned shifts
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 5 years of warehouse or material handling experience.
- Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Experience with ERP/WMS systems and barcode scanning.
- Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse operations.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
