Project Engineer / Project Manager, Utility Relocation | Raleigh, NC | Hybrid
THE OPPORTUNITY
Interested in the intersection of roadway design and water/wastewater infrastructure? An established consulting engineering firm is seeking a Project Engineer or Project Manager to help deliver water and sanitary sewer utility relocations associated with transportation projects across North Carolina. Based in Raleigh, this opportunity can suit an experienced design engineer who is ready for more responsibility or an established PM with directly relevant experience.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Design the relocation of water distribution and sanitary sewer collection facilities affected by roadway and transportation improvements.
Identify and resolve utility conflicts involving proposed roadways, storm drainage, traffic-control plans and structures.
Prepare design deliverables, specifications and cost estimates for NCDOT and municipal projects, including design-bid and design-build work.
Prepare water and sewer permit applications for North Carolina regulatory review.
Coordinate with transportation, drainage and other technical teams; participate in occasional field investigations and project meetings.
At the appropriate level, provide project leadership, support proposals and mentor junior engineers.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Generally 5+ years of water/wastewater engineering design experience, ideally including water/sewer relocations tied to highway work.
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
North Carolina PE license or ability to obtain it within one year.
CAD experience; MicroStation or AutoCAD is preferred.
Ability to collaborate across design disciplines and communicate technical issues clearly.
For Project Manager consideration, a track record of taking ownership of projects and coordinating delivery.
