As a Category Specialist - Living Room Upholstery, you'll support the growth of our Living Room Upholstery business by building product lines that grow our catalog, increase market share, and drive profitability.
In the Category team, you'll be helping to drive what trends are rising in the furniture world and analyze which new products bring the most value to Article's customers, expanding our Living Room Upholstery assortment. This fits into our larger need to continuously deliver unrivaled quality, value, and stylish designs while scaling our core catalog offerings.
Within the first few months, you’d take full ownership of SKU management, line plan maintenance, attribute accuracy, and weekly performance reporting. In a year, you’ll be proud to say you’ve helped launch successful new upholstery lines, optimized market pricing competitiveness, and driven category growth alongside a diverse team of category professionals.
You'll be part of a supportive, diverse team of Category and Merchandising professionals who will help you sharpen, learn, and grow in the Product Category world. As a Particle, you will have a high level of autonomy to explore solutions and solve challenging, meaningful problems.
We are a hybrid team - you'll be in the office 3 days per week.
What You’ll Do
You’ll be part of the Category team working to ensure flawless product launches, accurate data management, and strong in-season performance analysis across Living Room Upholstery.
- Maintain and update weekly, monthly, and quarterly category reporting to support team insights and data-driven analysis.
- Execute administrative and SKU management tasks with precision, including Line Plan updates and attribute file accuracy.
- Participate in product performance reviews, suggesting development initiatives and sales support to boost catalog performance.
- Use sales analysis skills to provide informed recommendations on product performance expectations and demand.
- Analyze competitor collections and perform market pricing analysis to identify growth opportunities and maintain market competitiveness.
- Oversee the end-to-end SKU setup process to ensure product pages accurately reflect the Product team's vision.
- Partner cross-functionally with the copy team to validate new product and fabric names.
- Create Assortment Review product guides to communicate new product features clearly to internal partners.
- Share Customer Care feedback and website review insights cross-functionally to drive actionable product improvements.
- Maintain database information to accurately reflect price changes, promotions, and product phaseouts.
Who You Are
- 2+ years of experience in a category, merchandising, buyer, product, or related position.
- Someone who gets into the details and analyzes the best options before making a decision.
- Able to move fast while staying meticulous and organized.
- Have a strong eye for design and style, with the ability to understand how and why a piece fits into Article's product offerings.
- Strong communicator who can effectively align cross-functional teams around product launches, timelines, and strategy changes.
- Highly proficient in data analysis, reporting, and managing complex database information.
- Legally able to work in Canada.
- Completion of criminal background check.

- Starting salary is determined by your transferable skills, knowledge, work experience, and the hiring team’s budget, which is based on business needs, market compensation data, and internal equity
