POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Application Developer provides design, implementation, and technical support for ASI’s key business applications including Epicor ERP, Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Office, and Jira. The individual interacts with business stakeholders at all levels to gain an in-depth understanding of business processes and works to translate those processes as required into tools, workflows, reports, and other software system capabilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Management, maintenance, development, and support of SQL-based applications including Epicor ERP.
• Coding and scripting including C#, VBScript/VBA, SQL queries/stored procedures.
• Administration of SQL Server and Windows-based application servers.
• Application troubleshooting and issue resolution on Windows-based workstation computers.
• System documentation and development of procedures and work instructions.
• Manage the implementation and delivery of assigned projects meeting established timelines, budgets and expectations of quality.
• Participate in support activities that relate to application support.
• Manage changes in accordance with company policy and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no supervisory responsibilities. 

Requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• 2-4+ years of experience managing Microsoft SQL server (Required).
• 2-4+ years of coding or scripting experience in any language (C#, VBA/VBScript, or SQL Preferred).
• 2-4+ years of experience with maintaining an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with Epicor ERP platform (Kinetic a plus)
• Experience with Job Pack production scheduling software
• Experience with Microsoft Office macros and VBA development along with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience with Atlassian Jira Software or a similar issue-tracking application

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and organization.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple levels of the organization.
• Advanced critical thinking and sound judgment skills to resolve complex issues while mitigating risk.
• Ability to foster and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• 4-year degree with a technical major, or equivalent experience (Required).

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

• U.S. Citizenship Required: As a federal contractor supporting the U.S. warfighter, it is required that all employees in this role be United States citizens in compliance with government contract and security requirements.
• Background Check: Must be able to successfully pass an initial background screening.
• Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. The selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information, as required by the position.
• Work Schedule Flexibility: Occasional overtime and alternate shifts may be required to meet customer schedules, critical deadlines, or program milestones.
• Travel Requirements: Must be able and willing to travel domestically and, on occasion, internationally to customer sites, partner locations, or project meetings in support of contract objectives.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Required to sit and use hands and fingers, to handle or feel and to manipulate keys on a keyboard. 
• Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is primarily performed in an office environment consisting of offices and cubicles with low to moderate noise and bright or dim lighting. The work is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as external customers.
