Description
We are looking for a diligent Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. You will provide knowledge of the cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions. The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical skills and an analytical mindset. You must also be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons. The goal is to provide detailed reports so the company can make informed decisions that will enhance its profitability and growth. Responsibilities Understand the project/program and its requirementsDetermine key variables for cost and other estimatesGather first-hand information from sites, warehouses or other venuesConduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times etc.Use software for data analysis, forecasting and budgetingObtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendorsPerform risk analysisCreate and submit estimate reports or bids to appropriate persons (project managers, clients, bidding competitions etc.)Build relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.)Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs etc.) Requirements Proven experience as an estimator or similar positionFamiliarity with financial and project management principlesIn-depth knowledge of research and data analysis methods and estimation formulasExquisite math and IT ability with an analytical mindsetProficient in relevant software (Timberline, HCSS HeavyBid)Outstanding communication and negotiation abilitiesThoroughness and reliabilityExcellent organizational skillsBSc/BA in engineering, construction science or relevant disciplineCertified Professional Estimator (CPE) will be an assetBenefitsHealth Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision)Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays)Family Leave (Maternity, Paternity)Training & DevelopmentWork From HomeStock Option PlanSalary $108,000 - $120,000 per annum
