A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR ROLE
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting daily finance operations, ensuring accuracy in accounts payable/receivable, preparing reports, and contributing to the overall financial health of the business. This position supports a hospitality group that delivers award-winning dining and event experiences through world-class venues.
YOUR DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure completion of bank reconciliations and obtain sign off per the agreed month end timeframe.
- Assist in preparing month end reports and board reports.
- Reconcile invoices and ensure policy compliance
- Work with the Finance Manager (FM) to constantly improve internal controls
- Perform accurate data entry and financial record maintenance
- Prepare and process sales and COGS journals
- Coordinate EFT payment runs and supplier payments
- Assist in bank reconciliations and statement coding
- Support month-end procedures and cash-flow reporting
- Provide ad-hoc support and financial insights for decision-making
A BIT ABOUT YOU
- Minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance
- Proficiency in Xero and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel essential)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Proactive, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
