Role Overview

Join the C&AFC Risk Assessment team, responsible for the design, implementation, execution and continuous enhancement of Compliance and Anti-Financial Crime risk assessment processes across the Bank. The regional role will support the risk assessment coordination and execution regionally across DB’s regional offices in Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East and Africa, acting as a central utility capability across risk assessment methodology application, stakeholder coordination, data analysis, management reporting and governance, quality assurance and process improvement.

The successful candidate will help deliver robust, consistent and regulator-defensible risk assessment outputs by combining strong risk management judgement with analytical discipline, structured documentation, and high-quality stakeholder engagement. The role is suited to candidates who can easily operate across risk methodology, data, governance, reporting and transformation activities in a matrixed international environment.

Your Key Responsibilities

Risk Assessment Execution and Coordination

  • Coordinate the delivery of granular (country/ legal entity) risk assessments across multiple jurisdictions for Compliance/Anti‑Financial Crime risk types.
  • Guide stakeholders on the risk assessment methodology and minimum standards, including inherent risk, control effectiveness and residual risk evaluations.
  • Act as a key link between country, regional and global risk assessment teams, sharing best practice and identifying opportunities for streamlining risk assessment execution.
  • Facilitate workshops stakeholder discussions, including preparation of materials, action tracking and follow-up.
  • Take ownership of and maintain delivery plans, action logs and supporting documentation to ensure effective execution and clear accountability.
  • Support the preparation of risk assessment reports and presentations for senior management and governance forums.

Governance, Quality Assurance and Oversight

  • Conduct quality assurance reviews of risk assessments, ratings, supporting evidence
  • Review and challenge assessment outcomes to ensure consistency, completeness and alignment with methodology.
  • Support governance forums and management reviews by preparing materials, capturing key decisions and tracking actions.
  • Maintain clear and auditable documentation to support regulatory, Group and local audit requirements.
  • Identify execution gaps, data quality issues or control weaknesses and escalate these with clear recommendations and remediation actions to Regional and Group leadership

Data Analytics and Risk Insight Reporting

  • Analyze risk assessment data to identify trends, key risk insights and areas requiring attention.
  • Support the development of dashboards, reporting and data-driven risk assessment solutions, working with business and technology teams to improve data quality, automation and reporting capabilities.
  • Support the validation and analysis of risk assessment data, including risk indicators, contextual data, control metrics and assessment outputs.
  • Translate complex risk data and qualitative stakeholder input into concise, decision-useful management narratives.
  • Prepare presentations and materials highlighting key risks, rating movements, methodology observations, emerging themes and remediation progress.

Stakeholder Engagement, Training and Capability Building

  • Build effective working relationships with country teams, subject matter experts, risk type owners, data providers, governance teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance and training on risk assessment methodology, process expectations, evidence standards and governance requirements
  • Contribute to global and regional working groups focused on methodology enhancement, process standardisation and strategic transformation.

Continuous Improvement and Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise and improve risk assessment processes across the region.
  • Support implementation of automation and AI-enabled enhancements where appropriate.
  • Maintain desktop procedures, process documentation, playbooks and operating standards to support repeatable and resilient execution.
  • Support strategic initiatives relating to risk assessment platform migration, methodology enhancement, reporting optimisation and data quality improvement.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, strong controls, evidence discipline and delivery excellence.

Your Skills and Experience

Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in one or more of the following: Compliance, Anti-Financial Crime, operational risk, non-financial risk, controls, risk reporting or a similar financial services function (Preferred)
  • Working understanding of risk assessment, including inherent risk, control effectiveness, residual risk and risk rating concepts. (Required)
  • Knowledge of Financial Crime risk areas, including AML, sanctions, fraud, bribery and corruption, monitoring and screening. (Required)
  • Knowledge of Compliance Risk (Beneficial)
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, challenge outcomes and generate meaningful risk insights.
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; (Required) ; experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python or similar analytical tools is advantageous.
  • Experience developing management information and data-driven reporting to support decision-making. (Required)
  • Understanding of governance, audit and regulatory expectations relating to risk assessment processes and documentation (Preferred)
  • Experience or interest in leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve analytics, reporting and risk assessment processes. (Preferred)

Relevant Work Experience

  • For Assistant Vice President level: experience supporting risk management, compliance, AFC, audit, data operations, MI/reporting or governance processes in a financial services environment is preferred.
  • For Vice President level: prior experience coordinating or executing risk assessments, control assessments, governance reporting, quality assurance or regional stakeholder processes is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting senior management reporting, regulatory or audit reviews, issue management, findings lifecycle management, or regional/global transformation initiatives would be advantageous.
  • Background in consulting, peer bank’s is a differentiator.

Education and Language Skills

  • Degree-level education is preferred, ideally in business, Information/Data management, finance, economics, risk management, compliance, data analytics, business, technology or a related discipline.
  • Fluent spoken and written English is required.
