Club Director I (Part-Time)

Part-Time | Approximately 25–30 Hours per Week | 23.50 - 26.00 p/h DOE

Become a Leader in Your Community

Every kid deserves a place to feel safe. A place to belong. A place to discover who they can become.

At Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast, we provide that place every day.

Since opening our first Club in Santa Maria in 1966, we've grown to serve communities across Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo Counties, helping thousands of young people build great futures through high-quality after-school and summer programs.

Today, we're looking for an enthusiastic leader to serve as the Club Director I for our Ron Estabillo Club in Guadalupe, California.

Become a leader in your community by creating a safe, welcoming place where Guadalupe's youth can learn, grow, and thrive every day after school.

About the Role

As the Club Director, you'll be the heart of your Club. You'll lead a dedicated team of youth development professionals, build strong relationships with families and school staff, and create an environment where every child feels welcome, valued, and inspired.

Our Ron Estabillo Club serves approximately 30–60 youth each day, giving you the opportunity to know every child, mentor your staff, and make a lasting impact in your community.

You'll oversee the daily operations of the Club while bringing the Boys & Girls Clubs mission to life through engaging programs, positive relationships, and a commitment to providing every child with a safe place to learn and grow.

Reporting to the Regional Club Director or Area Club Director, you'll ensure your Club is welcoming, well-organized, and filled with opportunities for young people to succeed.

Requirements

What You'll Do

Every day looks a little different, but you can expect to:

  • Create a fun, safe, and inclusive environment where youth can thrive.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Guadalupe Club.
  • Supervise, coach, and support a small team of youth development professionals.
  • Deliver engaging after-school programs that encourage learning, leadership, healthy lifestyles, and creativity.
  • Build positive relationships with youth, families, school staff, and community partners.
  • Help your Club meet attendance and participation goals.
  • Ensure programs are well-organized, safe, and aligned with Boys & Girls Clubs standards.
  • Celebrate successes, solve challenges, and create memorable experiences for every member.

Who You Are

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Believe every child deserves someone who believes in them.
  • Enjoy mentoring both youth and staff.
  • Love building relationships within your community.
  • Lead with positivity, compassion, and accountability.
  • Stay organized while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Are energized by creating fun, engaging experiences for children every day.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One to two years of experience working with youth, education, recreation, or after-school programs.
  • At least one year of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain after hire).
  • Ability to successfully complete background screening and school district requirements.

Schedule

This is a part-time position, generally working weekday afternoons during the school year, with opportunities for additional hours during school breaks, staff training, special events, and summer programming.

Compensation & Benefits

$23.50–$26.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Eligible employees receive:

  • Paid Vacation
  • Retirement Savings Plan (for eligible employees)
