Position Summary
The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst serves as a strategic analytics partner supporting Priority Health's Medicare and Individual lines of business. This role combines business analysis, data analytics, reporting, dashboard development, and stakeholder consultation to drive data-informed decision-making and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate brings strong SQL and Power BI expertise, a deep curiosity for solving business challenges, and the ability to translate complex healthcare data into actionable insights. This individual will partner closely with Product Development, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Actuarial, Clinical, and other cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, develop reporting solutions, and support strategic initiatives.
This position is well-suited for a professional who enjoys balancing technical analysis with business partnership and stakeholder engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver clear, actionable insights through reports, dashboards, presentations, and analytical storytelling.
- Design, build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, reports, and self-service reporting solutions.
- Analyze large healthcare datasets to identify trends, opportunities, risks, and business performance drivers.
- Gather and document business requirements and translate them into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
- Partner with business and clinical stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting needs.
- Validate data quality, investigate discrepancies, and collaborate with Data Governance and operational teams to improve data accuracy and transparency.
- Develop and maintain data integrations, ETL processes, and reporting assets supporting enterprise analytics needs.
- Participate in Agile teams and collaborate across technical and business functions to deliver analytics solutions.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced Business Intelligence Analysts.
- Support process improvement initiatives through the use of data-driven insights and performance measurement.
- Work with data architects and technical teams to ensure data models support business reporting and analytics requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Business, Liberal Arts, Computer Science, Application Programming, Software Development, Information Systems, Database Administration, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within a health plan, managed care organization, payer, or healthcare analytics environment.
- Knowledge of Medicare Advantage and/or Individual ACA products.
- Experience working with enrollment, claims, product, sales, marketing, provider, financial, or operational healthcare data.
- Familiarity with CMS reporting, regulatory requirements, and healthcare performance metrics.
- Advanced SQL experience, including writing, troubleshooting, validating, and optimizing complex queries.
- Strong Power BI development experience, including dashboard design, data modeling, visualization best practices, and report maintenance.
- Experience working with large healthcare datasets in enterprise reporting or data warehouse environments.
- Ability to analyze and validate data, investigate issues, and translate business requirements into reporting solutions.
- Experience leveraging multiple data sources to support operational, analytical, and strategic decision-making.
