Senior Electrical & Instrument Engineer

As part of InnoTech, the AL Maritime activity connects a wide range of global markets to essential molecules across borders and oceans. Air Liquide Maritime is organized along four business units, namely Offshore Energies, Cryogenic Supply, Global Rare Gases and Global Helium, and is also supporting OCEOS, a joint venture to offer CO2 shipping and barging services for CCS projects across Europe. The organisation has grown significantly over the last few years and regroups 10 sites located in 9 countries with more than 200 employees.

Air Liquide Maritime Sdn Bhd specializes in cryogenic tank and equipment rental for the offshore and maritime industries as well as in cryogenic transport of molecules, and provides a full range of repair and testing services.

The purpose of the Senior E&I Engineer is to ensure that all E&I related designs meets the required function, fit and purpose. This role is responsible for supporting the growth of the group through the technical knowledge, design and operational experience.
This role shall also deliver designs to the required quality while bringing value to the company by optimizing designs and reducing overall costs. The Senior E&I Engineer will also works closely within the tendering and project teams to ensure the best outcome for the company is achieved and reports to the Engineering manager.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

• To be a part of & support the group’s Project Engineering & delivery team with design basis, cost estimates and technical proposals for quotations.  

• Prioritize safety adherence throughout all tasks and projects.

• Analyze and comprehend client technical data thoroughly.

• Develop comprehensive design documents encompassing instrumentation lists, P&IDs, instrument datasheets, loop diagrams, cable schedules and E&I MTO calculations, etc

• Ensure compliance with hazardous area regulations, including IECEx, ATEX, INMETRO and NEC standards.

• Assist in developing control philosophy, equipment specifications/datasheets and requisitions, proposals, operator manuals and support Hazops.  Act as a reviewer of P&IDs, specifications/datasheets, drawings and manuals for other team members. 

• Assess vendor designs, including GADs, sizing calculations, and panel drawings. 

• Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs

• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with fabricators, vendors and customers.

• Oversee E&I installations, conduct site visits, and facilitate pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, adhering strictly to regulations and procedures.

Required Competencies

• BE in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Instrumentation or equivalent  engineering degree.

• 10+ years of experience in relevant field

• Experience in EPC, Skidded solution, modularization.

• Hands on field experience required

• Proficiency in E&I designing.

• Ability to work collaboratively with people and organizations in multiple geographies while delivering results

• Ability to conceptualize and communicate business needs.

• Proven track record of using technical expertise to enable business development

• Must have exceptional problem solving and troubleshooting skills

• Hands on experience in softwares like Autocad 2D

Preferred Competencies

• Experience in Upstream hydrocarbon/ offshore-onshore projects.

• Experience with Skid/Module system design

• Multilingual preferred
