Description
The position is responsible for providing strategic leadership over the organization’s finance, accounting, treasury, taxation, budgeting, financial planning, risk management, and internal control functions. It serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, driving profitability, financial sustainability, operational efficiency, and long-term business growth. The role supports business expansion initiatives, strengthens financial governance, and ensures effective management of financial resources to achieve organizational objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy in alignment with business goals and long-term growth plans.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on financial, operational, and business matters.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning, investments, and business expansion initiatives.
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
- Monitor financial performance against approved budgets and business targets and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
- Develop profitability and performance analyses across business operations, products, and markets.
- Oversee the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Manage all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory accounting, and fixed assets.
- Ensure compliance with applicable financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
- Oversee cost accounting and financial analysis to identify opportunities for operational efficiency and cost optimization.
- Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, working capital, financing facilities, and banking relationships.
- Monitor financial risks and implement strategies to safeguard company assets and financial stability.
- Lead tax planning initiatives and ensure compliance with statutory and government reporting requirements.
- Oversee internal controls, risk management programs, and audit activities to strengthen governance and compliance.
- Partner with operations, procurement, logistics, human resources, and commercial teams to evaluate financial implications of business initiatives.
- Assess the financial viability of expansion projects, capital investments, and strategic business opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance and Accounting team while promoting a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- Establish performance goals, monitor results, and drive continuous enhancement of finance processes and capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- You must have a bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. With an MBA or a master’s degree in Finance, Agribusiness, Business Management, or a related discipline is an advantage. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
- You must have at least 5 years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience, preferably in agribusiness, agriculture, plantation operations, food production, export-oriented businesses, or manufacturing environments.
- You must have proven expertise in strategic financial management, business planning, and financial performance analysis.
- You must have strong knowledge of financial planning and analysis (FP&A), treasury management, taxation, and regulatory compliance.
- You must have experience in risk management, internal controls, audit management, and corporate governance.
- You must have experience with ERP systems, financial reporting, and investment or capital planning.
- You must have strong leadership, stakeholder management, and people development capabilities.
- You must be highly analytical, results-driven, and capable of making sound business decisions.
- You must demonstrate high integrity, strategic thinking, and the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic business environment.
Work Schedule: Regular shift (8am – 5pm)
Work Setup: Onsite – Davao City
