Chief Finance Officer

Job Summary

 

The CFO will be responsible for leading the finance function and serving as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board. The role combines strategic finance leadership with strong operational execution, ensuring financial discipline, capital efficiency, robust reporting systems, and readiness for future institutional funding.

 

Responsibilities

 

1. Strategic Finance & Business Growth

Act as a strategic partner to the CEO and Board by leading financial planning, business strategy,

profitability improvement, pricing decisions, capital allocation, and supporting sustainable growth.

 

2. Financial Planning, Analysis, Reporting & Compliance

Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, management reporting, KPI tracking, statutory reporting, tax planning and compliance, external audits, and ensure adherence to IFRS and Tanzanian regulations.

 

3. Cash Flow, Inventory & Working Capital Management

Manage cash flow and liquidity, optimize inventory, receivables and payables, oversee banking and treasury operations, and improve working capital efficiency across traded and manufactured products.

 

4. Manufacturing Finance & Operational Excellence

Develop product costing systems, monitor manufacturing margins and cost drivers, strengthen inventory controls and valuation, analyse factory performance, and drive cost optimization initiatives.

 

5. Investor Relations & Team Leadership

Manage investor, lender, and strategic partner relationships, improve finance systems and ERP, and build a high-performing finance team.

 

 

Requirements

 

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• CPA, ACCA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification.
• MBA is an added advantage.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience.
• At least 5 years in a senior finance leadership role.
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, agribusiness, or industrial sectors.
• Experience managing teams and complex financial operations.
