Description
THE POSITION
Our roster has an opening with your name on it
The Senior Manager, Generosity Experimentation will play a pivotal role in scaling our experimentation function within the Sportsbook team. You'll own the experimentation strategy and execution for Generosity, leading a small team of analysts while staying hands-on with key tests and insights. This role puts you at the center of how we learn and adapt. You'll work closely with business stakeholders to define what we should test, partner with our data science team to ensure we're following best practices, and most importantly, make sure every insight we uncover drives business decisions. You'll have the opportunity to be involved in key strategic initiatives that support FanDuel's overall growth.
In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.
THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play
- Define and prioritize the experimentation roadmap across our entire generosity portfolio, including investment mix, offer mix, loyalty program optimization, acquisition and other initiatives, making disciplined trade-offs to maximize learning and business impact.
- Stay hands-on with key experiments, including those focused on generosity personalization. Proactively guide working teams (Commercial, Customer Marketing, Data Science) through design, execution and analysis of transformational experiments.
- Own the feedback loop from experiment design to business action, ensuring insights are translated into stakeholder decisions. Partner with other analytics teams (generosity analytics, performance and insights) on continuous hypothesis development.
- Manage and develop a team of analysts, coaching them on experimental design, stakeholder communication, and analytical rigor. Ensure that best practices and methodologies are applied to all generosity experiments, consulting on novel problems and ensuring we maintain statistical rigor without sacrificing speed.
- Be a key stakeholder for experimentation tooling development. Articulate what our team needs from the platform, identifying gaps and requirements that will help us move faster and smarter.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to leadership, ensuring experimentation insights directly inform strategy and business priorities.
THE STATS
What we’re looking for in our next teammate
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in experimentation, analytics, commercial strategy, or similar quantitative roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or senior individual contributor role.
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science or a related field. Advanced degree a plus.
- Proven track record of designing, executing, and analyzing experiments at scale, with demonstrated ability to drive business impact through data-driven approaches.
- Strong knowledge of experimentation statistics. Experience with advanced experimental and quasi-experimental methods, such as synthetic controls, propensity matching and reinforcement learning methods.
- Advanced proficiency with SQL, statistical programming languages (i.e., Python), data platforms (i.e., Databricks) and responsible use of AI.
- Genuine passion for sports, sports betting, or the gaming industry. You understand what drives fan engagement and care deeply about delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Demonstrated excellence at people leadership, including hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams. You create psychological safety and foster a culture of curiosity and rigor.
- Comfort shifting between hands-on work and strategic leadership. You can move fluidly between deep technical work like designing experiments and analyzing data, and high-level stakeholder communication.
- Strong communication skills. You can present complex findings clearly to both technical and business audiences and drive alignment on priorities across teams.
- A "can-do" attitude and bias toward action. You're comfortable getting into rooms, reaching out across teams, and doing whatever it takes to keep momentum.
