We are seeking a detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to support operations at our Cornelius, NC location. This role offers hands-on experience across logistics, inventory control, shipping/receiving, and ERP systems within a production-based environment.
In addition to facility-based logistics responsibilities, this role will also be the backup to our Delivery Driver, where they will perform local pickups and deliveries, requiring safe operation of a company vehicle and direct interaction with customers and vendors. The ideal candidate has strong data entry skills, experience with shipping carriers, and a commitment to accuracy, organization, and service.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and track customer-owned test and measurement equipment through all stages of the calibration process using Trescal's asset management and ERP systems.
- Verify and record equipment manufacturer, model, serial number, asset tag information, and customer-specific requirements with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure the integrity of inventory data for assigned areas, including updating shipping, receiving, and equipment information.
- Organize and maintain clean, orderly inventory and warehouse areas.
- Maintain records and documentation in accordance with quality system requirements.
- Receive, inspect, unpack, and process inbound shipments, verifying contents against applicable documentation.
- Identify, document, and report discrepancies, shortages, or damage in incoming shipments.
- Accurately enter and validate equipment information, including manufacturer, model, and serial numbers.
- Verify equipment identification and customer-specific requirements.
- Prepare, package, and ship equipment to customers and vendors in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements.
- Generate shipping labels and process shipments using carrier systems such as UPS WorldShip and FedEx.
- Research and arrange appropriate shipping solutions for special packaging requirements or unique customer needs.
- Coordinate vendor deliveries and complete all required receiving and shipping documentation.
- Initiate, track, and resolve shipping claims, serving as a point of contact with carriers and customers as needed.
- Maintain effective working relationships with parcel carriers and other shipping service providers.
- Assist with local delivery and pickup responsibilities as needed to support business operations and provide coverage for the primary delivery driver.
- Perform data entry and other administrative tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
- Handle sensitive and high-value customer equipment with care and professionalism, ensuring proper packaging and protection during transportation and shipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate a company vehicle and perform pickup and delivery duties as needed.
- Experience in shipping/receiving, asset management, logistics coordination, calibration services, electronics repair, manufacturing, or other quality-controlled operational environments preferred.
- Experience using shipping software, such as UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager.
- Experience using inventory, asset management, or ERP systems.
- Previous customer service or customer-facing experience.
