We are seeking a talented individual to join our Voluntary Benefits Marketing and Communications team, part of our People & Investments business at Marsh. This role will be based in Urbandale, IA and offers a hybrid work arrangement, requiring a minimum of three days per week in the office.

 

As a Communications Specialist, you will develop persuasive, client-ready sales materials that help our colleagues win and retain business. You will turn complex ideas into clear, compelling messaging across, presentations, capabilities documents, proposals, and other strategic communications while partnering closely with stakeholders across lines of business.

 

This role blends writing, visual storytelling, project coordination, and stakeholder collaboration to support high-impact business development efforts.

We will count on you to:

• Develop, write, edit, and refine content for presentations, capabilities documents, proposal, and related sales collateral.
• Partner with business development and subject matter experts to shape clear messaging tailored to specific clients, opportunities, and industries.
• Thrive and be motivated by an environment that embraces AI and technology-enabled tools.
• Translate complex business solutions, data, and differentiators into polished, persuasive communications that support growth.
• Coordinate inputs, timelines, and review cycles across contributors to keep opportunity materials accurate, on-brand, and on schedule.
• Create and enhance visual and written collateral using tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe products.
• Help improve content quality and team effectiveness by organizing reusable materials, sharing best practices, and serving as a resource to colleagues.

 

What you need to have: 

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, English, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience developing proposals, sales communications, marketing collateral, or other business-facing content.
• Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, with working knowledge of Excel and Adobe creative tools.
