Access Control Maintenance Mechanic – Build a Career That Takes You Places
Empire | $25–$35/hour + $50/Day Travel Per Diem
Tired of Working Hard for a Company That Doesn't Appreciate What You Bring to the Table?
You show up. You work hard. You know your way around tools, equipment, and electrical systems. You're the person people turn to when something breaks and they need someone who can figure it out.
But at the end of the day, do you feel like you're building a future—or just collecting another paycheck?
What if your next job gave you more than just a place to clock in?
What if you could travel the country, put your mechanical and electrical skills to the test, solve real problems, and work alongside people who have your back?
At Empire, we're looking for an Access Control Maintenance Mechanic who takes pride in figuring things out, fixing things right, and keeping equipment running.
We're not looking for someone who just wants another job. We're looking for someone who wants to build a career they're proud of.
Does This Sound Like You?
- You're the person everyone calls when something isn't working, because you know how to troubleshoot and find a solution.
- You have mechanical ability and hands-on electrical experience, and you enjoy putting those skills to work.
- You understand wiring, electrical components, motors, and control systems—or you're eager to expand your knowledge.
- You'd rather solve a problem than make an excuse.
- You take pride in your work and believe a job worth doing is worth doing right.
- You enjoy working with your hands, using tools, and tackling something different every day.
- You're comfortable traveling and seeing new places.
- You're dependable, hardworking, and someone your teammates can count on.
- You want to keep learning, growing, and becoming better at your trade.
If you're mechanically minded, electrically skilled, and tired of feeling like just another number, we should talk.
Work Hard. Enjoy Life. Be Part of Something Bigger.
At Empire, we believe a great career should help you build a great life outside of work, too.
Our people work hard, but they also know how to enjoy life. Whether it's hunting, fishing, watching sports, spending weekends at the racetrack, or making memories with family and friends, we understand there's more to life than work.
We want people who have goals, passions, and something they're working toward.
You bring the grit. We'll bring the opportunity.
What You'll Be Taking On
As an Access Control Maintenance Mechanic, you'll work with a traveling team installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing security gates, fencing, and automated access control systems across the country.
Your work will include:
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical and electrical issues with automated gates and access control equipment.
- Performing low-voltage electrical work, including wiring gate operators, motors, sensors, keypads, and access control systems.
- Reading and interpreting electrical diagrams, wiring schematics, blueprints, and project specifications.
- Installing, maintaining, and repairing security gates, fencing, and access control components.
- Performing preventative maintenance to keep systems operating safely and efficiently.
- Using electrical testing equipment, including multimeters, to diagnose wiring and component issues.
- Working with concrete, welding, and heavy equipment as needed.
- Safely loading, securing, and transporting tools, materials, and equipment.
- Communicating project progress and working closely with your crew and project managers.
- Maintaining safe, clean, and organized jobsites.
This isn't a job where every day looks the same. You'll face new challenges, work in different locations, and have opportunities to build valuable mechanical and electrical skills.
