Summary :
The Scheduler performs scheduling duties for patients of outpatient diagnostic services at ThedaCare. Performs functions while meeting the mission and goals of ThedaCare and regulatory compliance requirements.Job Description:
Schedule:
4 Days per week
8 Hour Shifts (varied start times between 7:00am - 9:00am)
Around 7-10 Saturdays a year at the Appleton Clinic (7:00am - 12:00pm)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Schedules and pre-registers patients using appropriate procedures based on physician orders.
- Selects accurate medical records for patient safety.
- Provides proper patient instructions while providing excellent customer service.
- Facilitates the flow of patient forms, patient letters, and data collection per department needs.
- Collects and enters all necessary demographic, clinical, billing, and insurance information from customers or responsible parties to facilitate a seamless customer experience.
- Proactively problem solves access issues that arise when scheduling to meet stakeholders needs which can include adjusting schedules to utilize unused time due to cancellations and to accommodate patient needs.
- Performs administrative tasks to support operational needs of area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Must be 18 years of age
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance
- Job classification is not exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility
- Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
- This position involves frequent phone communication with patients and staff. All inbound and outbound calls are recorded and monitored for quality assurance, training, and compliance purposes.
