Job Description:
The Senior Accountant, Revenue & Operational Accounting, will support key accounting processes related to the Company's product and service revenue streams and related operational activities. This role will be responsible for revenue transaction validation, vendor invoice review and processing, account reconciliations, accrual preparation, month-end close activities, and operational accounting support.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented, with a strong foundation in accounting principles and experience managing recurring accounting processes within a fast-paced environment. This role offers broad exposure across revenue accounting, operational accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls while providing opportunities for continued career growth within the accounting organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Revenue & Operational Accounting
Review and validate transaction-level revenue and operational data to ensure completeness, accuracy, and proper accounting treatment.
Maintain key revenue and operational accounting schedules and supporting documentation.
Prepare and analyze recurring revenue-related reporting and reconciliations.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between operational records and accounting data.
Assist with monthly and quarterly revenue analyses and reporting requirements.
Partner with Operations and Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely accounting for revenue-generating activities.
Support process improvement initiatives related to revenue and operational accounting workflows.
Logistics & Operational Expense Accounting
Review vendor invoices and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and proper accounting treatment.
Coordinate with Operations, Logistics, and other business stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and obtain required support for accounting transactions.
Process approved invoices within the Company's accounting systems.
Ensure appropriate account coding and classification of operational expenditures.
Prepare accruals and supporting analyses related to logistics, transportation, and other operational expenses.
Maintain schedules and documentation supporting operational accounting activities.
Month-End Close & General Accounting
Prepare journal entries and supporting schedules as part of the monthly close process.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
Analyze account fluctuations and prepare supporting explanations for management review.
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
Prepare recurring schedules used in management and financial reporting.
Audit, Controls & Compliance
Execute and document internal controls and SOX compliance activities related to assigned processes.
Prepare audit schedules and respond to requests from internal and external auditors.
Ensure accounting records are maintained in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency, strengthen controls, and automate manual activities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Operations, Logistics, Customer Support, and other business functions to support accurate financial reporting.
Participate in system implementations, process enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Support special projects and ad hoc accounting analyses as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals and U.S. GAAP.
Experience preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analyses.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup formulas, and data analysis.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Experience in public accounting and/or publicly traded companies.
Experience with revenue accounting, operational accounting, cost accounting, or high-volume transaction environments.
Experience working with ERP systems.
Experience supporting SOX controls and month-end close processes.
Experience in life sciences, healthcare, medical technology, logistics, or other operationally intensive industries.
