Sam’s club is a membership-based retail warehouse club owned and operated by Walmart. With more than 600 physical clubs across different geographic region in US, Sam’s Club chain serves more than 50 million US members and is rated among the top retailers in US.
You will work closely with Business team to understand the requirements, drive design, architecture and influence the choice of technology to deliver solution working closely with senior architects and leadership team.

What you will do
- Develop, test, and deploy high-quality iOS applications that scale to millions of members.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to deliver seamless mobile experiences.
- Drive technical discussions, provide recommendations on solution design, and ensure alignment with Walmart’s engineering standards.
- Write clean, modular, and testable code with a strong emphasis on maintainability and performance.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and optimize mobile applications to ensure robust and responsive user experiences.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.
- Support integration of mobile solutions with microservices, APIs, and backend systems.
What you will bring
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 3–6 years of mobile engineering experience, with at least 3 years focused on iOS application development.
- Expertise in developing iOS mobile apps using Swift and Objective-C, along with a strong understanding of mobile app design principles and user experience (UX) considerations.
- Deep knowledge of the iOS SDK, Apple's Human Interface Guidelines (HIG), Design and Architecture Patterns(MVC, MVVM, VIPER, Clean Architecture), and testing frameworks (XCTest, XCUITest).
- Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams — including product, design, and backend — to plan and deliver new features.
- Track record of ensuring performance, quality, and responsiveness of iOS applications across various Apple devices and OS versions.
- Knowledge on REST APIs and GraphQL for backend integrations — including a solid understanding of general best practices, limitations, and trade-offs of each approach.
- Experience with offline storage (Core Data, Realm, SwiftData), local caching, and asynchronous programming(async/await, Combine, GCD).
- Familiarity with push notifications and cloud messaging APIs (APNs — Apple Push Notification service, Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Conducting thorough code reviews, maintaining code quality, and ensuring adherence to team coding standards and Apple platform conventions.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for iOS — including tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Fastlane, and Xcode Cloud — for building, testing, and deploying applications.
- Familiarity with App Store Connect, TestFlight, and broader Apple Developer tools (Instruments, Xcode Organizer, Simulator).
- Solid understanding of mobile security practices, performance optimization, and memory management in iOS environments (ARC, retain cycles, profiling with Instruments).
- Knowledge of Swift Package Manager (SPM) and dependency management is a plus.
- A continuous learner with strong problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and a customer-first mindset.
- Good understanding of Swift Concurrency: : Deep understanding of Task, structured concurrency, actors, @MainActor, Sendable, cancellation, task priorities, and avoiding data races.
- Dependency framewrok evaluation: Evaluating internal SDKs for security, maintenance, licensing, performance, binary size, and long-term compatibility.
- Apple platform depth — background execution, deep/universal links, extensions/widgets, app lifecycle, signing/provisioning, and entitlements.
- Active participation in the full iOS development lifecycle — including sprint planning, feature development, testing, App Store submission, and production monitoring.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to fellow engineers on iOS best practices and Swift idioms.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
