Position: Principal Software Engineer

Duties: Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance; accordingly, developing contingency plans; and demonstrating adaptability and supporting continuous learning. Architecture Acumen: assist in decomposing the product architecture into multiple components and modules and define architectural specifications for each module. Create/Apply the right architectural pattern across the module as indicated in the architectural plan to obtain the right result. Define the architecture blueprint for the various components within a product/solution. Analyze system performance impacting the complete product for non-functional requirements like reliability, operability, performance efficiency and security. Requirement And Scoping Analysis: explore relevant products/solutions from an existing repertoire, that can address business/technical needs. Assess gaps/ updates/ modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions. Classify the requirements into applicable types. Anticipate the solution risks / issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps. Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/application/complex. Solution Design: assist in creation of simple, modular, extensible, and functional design for the product/solution in adherence to the requirements. Evaluate trade-offs while designing across multiple components in a product based on business requirements. Convert HLD to create detailed design using mock screens, pseudo codes and detailed functional logic of the modules for specific modules / components of a product. Understand nuances of designing for disaster recovery. Design and create MVP to clarify requirements and design and uncover risks. Independently refine the MVP design for early defects and revised customer requirements. Coding: select appropriate frameworks, platforms, and environments for software coding/configuration and scripting. Guide the team on coding patterns, languages, and frameworks in line with evolving trends in the industry and drive scalability and security. Drive Implementation of telemetry features by determining data/metrics requirement within the domain. Support ad-hoc reviews of software code to ensure baseline mitigations for known risks. Create/configure minimalistic code for entire product/system and ensure product is meeting business requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability, and high-scalability needs. Oversee codes executed by team in line with specified technical/business requirements. Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analyzing requirements. Drive creation of scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD, Testing or any other process across the domain. Testing: translate customer requirements into test strategy. Determine the testing tools, domains, environments, and test types to be employed to achieve testing objectives. Select, introduce, and implement various tools for testing. Identify scope and method of testing for each requirement. Ensure that the test cases cover all the test scenarios. Defect Management and Troubleshooting: conduct root cause analysis and root cause corrective action to identify the origin of defects/ performance gaps and prevent them from recurring. Track registered issues for product/solution and prioritize them for resolution. Measure usability of product/solution as per customer/business requirement after defect fixing and plugging test gaps.  

 

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 3 years of experience in software engineering or related experience; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field plus 5 years of post-bachelor’s progressively responsible experience in software engineering or related experience. 

 

Skills Required: Must have experience with: Swift and Objective-C for iOS development; iOS SDKs, e.g. Foundation, UIKit, Core Graphics, Core Animation, etc.; Build iOS user interface with auto layout technology both programmatically and using interface builder; REST/JSON web services, and experience of integrating JSON web services with iOS apps using Codable, JSONSeriealizer/JSONDeserializer, etc.; Communicate with external services via HTTP or WebSocket in iOS development using frameworks; Multithread and asynchronous programming using frameworks; Data persistence in iOS development, experience with database frameworks; Write unit/UI tests for iOS development with XCTest; Modularize/decouple iOS app codebase into separate internal libraries; Implement modern architectures and design patterns; Use Cocoapods for third party library management; iOS push notifications related technologies; Use debugging tools for iOS development to solve bugs or performance issues; Deploy iOS applications, and deep knowledge of related technologies such as code signing, certification management, provisioning profiles, etc.; Work with platforms or tools for iOS app analytics, stability and growth; Create configuration, builds, and test scripts for Continuous Integration environments; Use network traffic debugging tools for iOS app development; Source code version control using Git, and coding collaboration (code merge requests and code reviewing) using Git Platforms; UI/UX prototyping tools during iOS app development; Agile software tools such as JIRA. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills. 

 Rate of pay: $110,000.00 - 220,000.00/year
