Loan Servicing Specialist

This job is primarily responsible for providing exceptional service to loan and investor customers. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, timely and accurate completion of all job responsibilities in accordance with investor(s) guidelines and legal requirements, data entry, exceptional customer service, and various related loan-servicing activities.

• Enter and/or audit new loan information in loan servicing system.
• Calculate servicing and pricing splits for investors, seller banks and correspondents.
• Prepare tax contracts for non-escrow loans.
• Set up initial escrow allocations for loan accounting.
• Calculate loan payoffs and complete verification of mortgages, upon request.
• Scan and index new loan information.
• Process billing statements in accordance with established schedule.
• Reply to customer service inquiries and emails in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Follow standard procedures for handling past due accounts.
• Prepare and mail monthly line of credit activity statements.
• Other duties as assigned.

Here’s what you’ll need to be considered:

Education

Required – High School Diploma or equivalent, or equivalent training and work experience.

Preferred – Associates Degree in business related field.

Experience

Preferred – 2 years’ experience in loan servicing and customer service.

Preferred – Secondary market experience.  Experience with loan tracking systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Proficient knowledge of how to use a computer and Microsoft Office programs (SharePoint, Word, Excel, and Access).
• Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization; emphasis on strong telephone skills.
• Accurate data entry skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Ability to learn and understand basic knowledge of investor guidelines and legal requirements.
• Ability to consistently exhibit qualities consistent with company philosophies to insure exemplary levels of service to all parties.
• Ability to build relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
• Strong time management skills with ability to multi-task and prioritize.

Physical Demands & Requirements

Sedentary work.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Ability to stand or sit constantly/continuously.

Hearing.  Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction.  Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Environmental Conditions

The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.

The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Frequently required to use personal protective equipment.

Travel may be required for meetings and trainings.

The expected base pay range for this role is:

$22.96 - $29.17

Actual pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including work location, job-related knowledge, skills and relevant experience for the job. Pay amount does not guarantee employment for any particular period of time.
