Description
We're assisting a well-funded startup in the integrated memory space with their search for a Community Operations Lead. They're developing wearable hardware that will be the bridge between human intention and machine intelligence. You'll own their community 0-to-1 — a growing beta Discord that's underactivated — and turn early adopters into true product evangelists ahead of a hardware launch. The role will be onsite in their SF office.
What you'll do:
- Success in the first 90 days looks like: an active community with a real feedback loop into the product, a first working hypothesis for what turns a power user into an evangelist, and at least one moment where the community was mobilized for something that mattered.
What you'll bring:
- Community building: 2+ years building and scaling an online community for a B2C or prosumer product into a real driver of engagement or retention
- Evangelist mechanics: Can design and test the concrete mechanics that turn power users into active advocates - recognition, referral, access, whatever the lever turns out to be - not just hope it happens organically
- Activation on demand: Can mobilize the community for a specific moment - a launch, a research push - and knows how to partner with Growth, Marketing, and Product to do it well
- Ownership without a playbook: Independently capable of making calls and resolving discourse; operationally sharp, comfortable defining scope as it surfaces
