Job Description:
Job Summary
Omnissa helps organisations deliver and manage secure digital workspaces. Horizon is our virtual desktop and application platform; our Digital Employee Experience (DEX) products give IT and employees visibility into the quality of that experience and provides monitoring and analytics across that stack.
We are looking for a skilled Automation Engineer with 3 to 8 years of experience to own interoperability testing between DEX and Horizon along with second & third-party integrations. You will design and automate tests that span these products, catch integration issues before they reach customers, and keep that coverage current as Horizon, DEX, and Monitoring solutions evolve.
This is a hands-on role. You will play a key role in developing scalable and efficient automation frameworks, driving automation strategy, and collaborating with developers and product teams working across. You will write Python test automation, own GitHub Actions and Jenkins pipelines, and partner with development teams across Horizon, DEX and other second and third-party integrations. As part of a modern engineering workflow, you will use AI-assisted tools to improve productivity in test development and debugging, while maintaining high standards for reliability, determinism, and long-term maintainability.
Core Responsibilities
Define and drive the automation testing approach for Horizon and DEX interoperability, aligned with product and program needs
Identify areas for automation and prioritise work based on risk, complexity, and business value
Design, build, and maintain automated interoperability, integration, and end-to-end tests across Horizon and DEX, primarily in Python
Plan and execute compatibility testing across current and previously supported product versions
Partner with feature teams from the design phase so new Horizon and DEX work is testable, and automated coverage is in place before it ships into the integrated stack
Build and maintain reusable, scalable test frameworks and shared libraries across supported platforms (Windows, Linux, and other supported clients)
Standardise processes, tools, and frameworks for automated testing, CI/CD, and quality gates
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and Jenkins), including pipeline templates, so component, integration, and end-to-end stages are automated, stable, and properly integrated
Implement and refine quality gates and reporting dashboards; track coverage, execution stability, and pipeline health
Implement and maintain scalable test infrastructure (on-premises, virtualised, and cloud) so environments stay stable, accessible, and usable for automated runs
Extend coverage across supported deployment platforms and real-world topologies, including hypervisors and gateway or proxy network paths
Work closely with developers so automation is integrated early and tests catch issues at unit, integration, functional, and UI levels where applicable
Review test suites for consistency, maintainability, and best practices; refactor scripts and optimise execution time as the suite grows
Investigate failures that span Horizon and DEX and drive them to root cause with engineering
Engage cross-functionally on end-to-end and interoperability scenarios to improve automation
Provide documentation and support so developers can understand and, where appropriate, self-manage test environments
Continuously evaluate new tools and technologies to improve automation efficiency and reliability
Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate test scaffolding, mock generation, refactoring, and debugging, and apply engineering judgment to review, validate, and harden the output for reliability, security, and maintainability
Qualifications
Required
3 to 8 years of experience in test automation for enterprise and/or cloud-hosted platforms (or equivalent experience).
Strong Python skills for test automation (frameworks such as pytest); additional languages (Java, Go, PowerShell) are useful.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins (or equivalent: Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).
Experience owning automated tests end to end — not only manual test execution.
Experience with upgrade testing and backward compatibility (mixed-version environments, upgrade paths, agent/client coexistence).
Experience testing cloud deployment and lifecycle scenarios (onboarding, configuration, upgrades), not only API-level functional tests.
Hands-on experience using a major public cloud (Azure preferred) to create and tear down test environments.
Ability to debug issues across multiple layers (on-premises components, cloud service, gateway/edge, network, endpoint) and communicate findings clearly in writing.
Preferred
Experience with Omnissa Horizon Suite of products or similar end user computing products/solutions.
Experience with monitoring solutions or telemetry products.
Familiarity working with Hypervisors and Cloud platforms (vSphere, Azure, AWS or other clouds).
Infrastructure-as-code or environment automation (Terraform, Ansible, or similar).
Experience extending an automation framework across new clouds or topologies rather than rewriting it each time.
