Description
The Fleet Coordinator (FC) is responsible for the overall performance of their respective drivers and dispatch team. The FC will accomplish this through training; development and supervision to ensure that Bison’s goals and interests are achieved. The FC is expected to address issues that go beyond the scope of regular daily activity. The FC is also expected to be a leader in the entire department by providing direction and support on a day-to-day basis. Must be well organized, an excellent communicator, and have a keen sense of timeliness in prioritizing personal and fleet activities.
Specific Responsibilities include:
Driver Retention Program:
- Build strong working relationships with assigned drivers and serve as their primary point of contact.
- Advocate for drivers by addressing concerns and coordinating solutions with internal teams.
- Establish performance goals and work with drivers to achieve operational, safety, and customer service objectives.
- Maintain accurate driver and equipment profiles.
- Support initiatives that promote driver satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
Driver Improvement Training:
- Provide training to drivers on company policies and procedures as per the Driver Reference Manual.
- Assist drivers in performing day-to-day and long-term responsibilities, including: Safety and compliance issues, Customer service issues, Remuneration package and policy, Employee reviews, Team building, operational issues.
- Provide detailed explanations as to why a particular policy or procedure is in effect.
Dispatch:
- Ensure all daily dispatch activities are carried out in a timely manner.
- Supervise and develop team members to achieve team, departmental, and company objectives.
- Actively participate in the planning process to ensure that driver and customer requirements are met or exceeded.
- Ensure telephone and satellite messages are being handled in an efficient manner.
Reporting:
- Report and document all drivers and team related issues.
- Report on the overall performance of the fleet.
- Prepare fleet summaries and operational reports.
Problem Resolution:
- Work on behalf of both the driver and the company to resolve any day-to-day or long-term issues.
- Proactively identify and resolve driver, customer service, operational, and maintenance-related issues
Other Tasks:
- Participate in special projects, training programs, and process improvement initiatives.
- Support departmental objectives and perform other related duties as assigned.
Our Ideal Candidate will possess:
- 1-2 years of dispatch experience in order to be considered for this role.
- Dedicated experience providing customer service in a similar work environment.
- Well organized, an excellent communicator and have a keen sense of timeliness.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, communication, problem solving and planning abilities.
- Ability to multitask and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Shift: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 17:30.
