Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operations of the Nursing Services Department in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

This leader will ensure the highest level of quality care for residents while promoting a positive, engaged, and accountable work environment that supports employee retention and clinical excellence.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of all nursing operations
• Ensure the delivery of exceptional resident-centered care and clinical outcomes
• Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
• Lead quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Monitor and improve quality measures, infection prevention, risk management, and regulatory compliance programs
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain top nursing talent
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
• Partner with interdisciplinary teams to optimize resident outcomes and satisfaction
• Manage staffing, scheduling, labor utilization, and departmental budgets
• Ensure survey readiness and support successful regulatory outcomes
• Collaborate with facility leadership to achieve strategic, operational, and clinical goals

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Minimum three years of nursing leadership experience
• Prior Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing, rehabilitation, or post-acute care setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state regulations, and survey processes
• Proven success in staff development, team building, and employee engagement
• Exceptional communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to drive clinical outcomes while maintaining operational effectiveness
• Commitment to delivering outstanding resident care and customer service
