Job Description
DESCRIPTION:
- Provide Human Resources support to Kinston plant population of ~250 employees.
- Help employees resolve a wide variety of HR and operational issues, including but not limited to: safety, company policy administration, adherence and interpretation, FMLA/ADA/STD, communications, employee relations, performance and talent management, payroll, benefits, temp agency collaboration, assisting with HR-related audits and ensuring compliance with company and legal regulations, employee PTO maintenance, data entry and reporting, orientation, etc.
- Coordinate with plant leadership team/department managers to determine hiring needs and ensure consistent staffing levels.
- Coordinate the hiring of new employees and ensure employment decisions follow company policy and employment laws.
- Respond to employee questions and complaints regarding a wide variety of issues (FMLA, work schedules, transfers, promotions, benefits, safety, unfair treatment, performance, personal issues, pay, company policies).
- Advise and coach plant leadership team on consistent application of company policies and standards of conduct.
- Conduct investigations and create appropriate responses and recommendations.
- Process termination recommendations for review with legal.
- Assist with response to unemployment claims.
- Communicates changes in HR related policies and benefit plans.
- Effective communication/presentation of important company information, one-on-one and/or in group meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA/BS degree in HR or related field preferred
- 3-5 years’ experience in a Human Resource position, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
- Familiarity with general employment laws including FMLA and ADA.
- Strong computer skills, training skills, customer service skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and attention to detail.
- High degree of comfort in conflict resolution situations is required.
- Ability to prioritize effectively in fast-paced environment.
