J&J is currently recruiting for a Senior Manager, Global Data Platforms for their MedTech Global Data & AI team. This is a hybrid role based in Raritan, NJ Jacksonville, FL and in Belgium.

Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Global Data Platforms is a member of the MT Global D&AI team and is primarily aligned to advancing MedTech business objectives. The role is responsible for the delivery, operation, and continuous improvement of secure, scalable, and AI-ready data platform capabilities that enable Vision priorities while supporting broader MedTech businesses and regions. It translates platform strategy into executable roadmaps, leads cross-functional delivery through influence, and partners with architecture, engineering, security, risk, governance, and business customers to deliver trusted data products at scale.

In partnership with Vision and MedTech enterprise customers, the role balances the between support for Vision with accountability for the overall MedTech Data & AI priorities. The individual helps shape and strengthen enterprise capabilities by promoting shared standards, reusable solutions, and scalable practices that accelerate delivery, eliminate redundancy, and create collective value across MedTech.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategy & Business Outcomes

• Translate the global data platform strategy into actionable roadmaps, measurable outcomes, and value realization, while managing commitments, risks, and budget inputs.
• Partner with senior leaders and business stakeholders to prioritize platform capabilities and high-value analytics and AI use cases.

2. Data as a Product

• Lead the development and adoption of trusted, standardized, AI-ready data products with clear ownership, lineage, quality controls, lifecycle practices, service expectations, and success measures.
• Standardize ingestion, transformation, monitoring, remediation, and consumption patterns to improve speed, usability, adoption, and data literacy while reducing manual effort.

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance by Design

• Implement enterprise governance standards, decision rights, ownership, and stewardship while embedding privacy, security, retention, classification, regulatory, and audit requirements into delivery and operations.
• Maintain traceable access controls, monitoring, and compliance evidence; coordinate remediation with relevant control functions and enable secure self-service analytics and AI.

4. Architecture, Engineering & Platform Operations

• Partner with architects to implement target-state patterns for cloud-scale platforms, integration, pipelines, APIs, observability, and serving layers, supported by reusable components and automation.
• Oversee the platform lifecycle—including releases, upgrades, capacity, reliability, performance, cost, and retirement—and drive incident resolution, resilience, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate emerging technologies through targeted prototypes and recommendations aligned with enterprise standards and business needs.

5. Global Operating Model & Customer Engagement

• Define and implement a global engagement model that aligns regional and business priorities with enterprise capabilities, balancing reuse with local and regulatory needs.
• Serve as the primary platform partner for assigned areas, coordinating priorities, dependencies, capacity, and resources across product, engineering, architecture, and business teams.
• Represent the platform in data, architecture, governance, and AI forums, communicating decisions and resolving cross-functional issues.

6. Capability Enablement & Partner Management

• Provide subject-matter guidance and coaching, clarifying outcomes, roles, delivery expectations, and performance measures across cross-functional teams.
• Build communities of practice that advance reusable standards, engineering excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Manage vendor and managed-service capacity, outcomes, service levels, performance, and commercial commitments, while addressing capability gaps through targeted training, partnerships, or sourcing.

Qualifications

Experience and Skills:

Required:

• Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 10+ years of dynamic IT leadership with major accountability for Data & Analytics and platform delivery in regulated industries (MedTech, life sciences, or equivalent).
• Consistent record building and running enterprise-scale data platforms (cloud-native, Lakehouse, data mesh) and delivering shared capabilities across global organizations.
• Hands-on and strategic mastery of cloud platforms (Azure and AWS) and modern data architectures (data Lakehouse/warehouse, feature stores, streaming, APIs).
• Demonstrated success operationalizing federated data governance, metadata/lineage, and data quality within a data-as-a-product model.
• Experience embedding AI/ML and GenAI into platform services and operations (automation, intelligent workflows, quality monitoring).
• Strong executive presence with a history of influencing senior leaders in global organizations.
• Outcome-focused decision maker: prioritizes investments, defines business-aligned goals and milestones, and measures value delivery.
• Hands-on knowledge of privacy, security, and data risk controls in regulated environments; experienced with compliance-driven controls and audits.
• Demonstrated FinOps and cost-optimization experience for large-scale data platforms.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

€96,000.00 - €165,025.00
