Punch Press Operator II

SUMMARY

The Punch Press Operator II is responsible for production of fabricated and/ or machined parts. This role focuses on operating fabrication equipment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Operate Punch Press and support equipment
• Set up dies and operate shop equipment
• Set up Material
• Shear Material
• Deburr and sand parts to size
• Clean parts
• Notifies supervisor or lead person of discrepancies
• Participates in process improvement efforts with Manufacturing Engineering and Supervision
• Perform 1st article inspections using calipers and other basic measuring tools
• Ensures machinery and equipment is operational
• Clean machines and tooling
• Completes other duties as assigned

REQUIRED

• High school diploma or GED, two to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to document work and communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic mathematical skills, including the ability to perform routine calculations and measurements accurately.
• Ability to safely lift to 30 pounds and perform repetitive manual tasks.
• Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety, quality standards, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced work environment.

 

PREFERRED

• 3 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing environments.

• Regular exposure to moving mechanical and electromechanical equipment
• Occasional work in elevated or restricted access areas, including platforms and ladders

• Occasional exposure to varying environmental conditions when supporting production or testing activities
