What you'll be doing
As the Senior Consultant, Control Insights & Reporting, you'll report to the Senior Director, Control Insights & Reporting, and play a key role in supporting the delivery of high-quality, centralized Governance & Controls (G&C) reporting across Personal & Business Banking (PBB), North American Commercial Banking (NACB), Global Wealth Management (GWM), Capital Markets (CM) and Business Enablement & Governance (BE&G). You'll contribute to process optimization initiatives by leveraging opportunities to automate workflows and transition static reports into dynamic Power BI dashboards, working in close partnership across the BE&G team to ensure all technical requirements are met. You'll also support the preparation of compelling written materials and presentations for senior management and governance committees, bringing both technical capability and strong communication skills to the team.
At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.
How you'll succeed
- Reporting & Analytics Support - Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of risk reporting. Prepare materials for governance committees including the Operational Risk, Resilience and Controls Committee (ORRCC), Global Risk Committee (GRC), and Risk Management Committee (RMC). Maintain an inventory of annual, quarterly, monthly, and weekly reporting obligations across all SBUs and lines of business (LOBs). Perform quality assurance checks on all reporting outputs to ensure accuracy and professionalism before delivery.
- Metrics Governance – Establish and maintain a comprehensive inventory of metrics used across all Governance & Controls reports for all SBUs and lines of business. Ensure metrics are consistently defined, accurately applied, and up to date across all reporting outputs. Support the annual review process of key Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) metrics, collaborating with relevant partners to validate and refresh metric definitions, limits, and data sources as needed.
- Power BI Requirements & Transition - Partner with stakeholders across the BE&G team to gather, document, and validate business and data requirements for the development of dynamic Power BI dashboards. Serve as the key point of accountability for the transition of newly built dashboards into production, ensuring they meet reporting needs and are functioning as intended. Own the ongoing maintenance and updates of Power BI dashboards, escalating significant changes or new builds as needed.
- Automation & Workflow Development - Leverage Power Automate and SharePoint to independently design and implement automated workflows that streamline and improve the efficiency of report production processes. Identify opportunities to transition manual metric tracking and reporting processes into automated solutions, reducing production time and improving accuracy. Document automation processes and maintain a library of workflows to support team knowledge and continuity.
- Communication & Materials Development - Support the preparation of clear, well-written reporting materials and presentations, including PowerPoint decks, for senior management and governance committees. Translate technical concepts and data insights into compelling, easy-to-understand narratives.
Who you are
- You can demonstrate experience in controls reporting, operational risk, data analytics, or a related field within financial services, with a minimum of 2–4 years of progressive experience. It's an asset if you have experience supporting PBB, NACB, GWM, or CM lines of business.

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to high data quality standards.
- You're digitally savvy. You seek out innovative solutions and embrace evolving technologies. You can demonstrate experience with Power BI, Power Automate, and SharePoint, including gathering requirements for dashboard development, designing automated workflows, and maintaining reporting solutions.
