Elementary Special Education Teacher | DCD Licensure Required | St. Anthony, Minnesota | $50 — $55/hour | Contract

Working with kindergarten and first grade students who have significant developmental and cognitive disabilities is not for everyone. These are children who may be non-verbal, need toileting support and require consistent one on one attention throughout the day. The teacher who thrives in this setting is someone who shows up with patience, structure and a genuine belief that every child deserves high expectations regardless of their starting point.

A school district in St. Anthony, Minnesota is looking for an Elementary Special Education Teacher for a DCD center-based classroom serving kindergarten and first grade students with significant needs. This is a contract position starting as soon as possible through June 7.

You will develop and implement IEPs, provide specially designed instruction, collect and analyze behavioral and academic data, implement structured behavioral supports and collaborate with paraeducators, related service providers and families to create a safe and supportive learning environment for every student in your classroom.

What you need to bring:

• Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching license
• Tier 2 DCD licensure preferred. Tier 1 will be considered with experience in a DCD center-based setting
• Experience working with students with significant developmental and cognitive disabilities including non-verbal students and those requiring toileting support
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation and progress monitoring
• Strong classroom and behavior management skills
• Ability to direct and collaborate effectively with paraeducators
• Available to start immediately through June 7
• Hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday
